new info on space expansion for SWG

Well here you have it, the first news for the Space Expansion: jump to lightspeed.

Well anyways so what do you guys think of this? Do you think it will be a let down or something that will add a very important element to MMO gameplay (for all MMO's that is). I personally think it will be a little bland and might be just something they are throwing into the game.... though I like the idea of it being emersed into the core game play. Sound off here::::40::

    If the space expansion brings life back to the current zombie state of the community(aka jedi craze) I would return.

    It has potential but so did the original SWG before the developers and players went into a jedi frenzy ignoring everything else.

    This expansion sounds fantastic, for me it may well be the missing piece from SWG that will make it "Star Wars" and at the worst i think it will be enough to get me playing again for a little while.

    Yeah been looking forward to this one, although how it'll work i'm still not sure, i'd like to have the freedom to do missions in space withouth running into agro all the time and it just turning into a space combat game instead of an RPG.

    Although I wonder how much these ships are gonna cost the players, i doubt people withouth millions of credits would be happy in forking out £30 for an expansion they cant use until they get some serious cash in-game :)

    I will check it out for sure.  I still have an active account, although I stopped playing SWG a month ago.  I really like it, but the Jedi situation is the main problem.  I can't get past the idea that there will be (or currently are) many Jedi running around in a time when there should only be a handful (according to the Star Wars Saga).  For me, it doesn't fit in.  I always said from the beginning I would play until I saw the Jedi start to appear.  I tried so hard to shake this, but it doesn't seem like Star Wars anymore, at least the Star Wars I know, when there are Jedi all over the place.

    You said exactly what I said the jedi craze has literally killed the game.

    Before the way to unlock the jedi slot was revealed the game was much better.Even with the inital bugs( and yes I lost millions in resources due to bugs).

    Back then most people wanted to be part of the star wars universe.There were folks like me happy to craft weapons and sell it to all factions.Folks that enjoyed been doctors,folks that loved taming,folks that enjoyed the  faction war,folks that had private clubs .

    People did what they wanted and most cared less for jedis.But like in all SoE games they bowed to whining on the jedi forum and unleashed a craze.

    Like fashion or owning a TV it became that everyone wanted one now.Folks grinded professions they were unhappy with,the faction wars basically died with just a few folks running around trying to own each other,roleplaying died period.

    Became a world that was boring and dull.

    This really made me start to hate SoE.They killed planetside by listening to whining  rather then reason out balance.They made EQ a worse game(if not verrant made such a beautiful game to start with they would kill it too).And then did same to SWG.

    I will try the expansion but if the community is still in jedi-zombie state doubt I play more then the free month.Last game I am giving SoE a chance with is EQ2.If they mess that one it would be the last game I buy from them.

    I was one of the jedi-crazed, to my own defense I will say I did it the hard way, before the holocrons were out. In fact, the release of those made me quit, I had mastered some 42 professions before unlocking my FS slot (Turned out my last missing one was Master weaponsmith). When I got my slot, I still played my WS, because I had actually grown fond of the profession and when I wanted to have some killing fun, I played my Jedi - then the holocrons came and everyone became jedi fixated - it sucked pretty much so I left the game.
