Started playing Trial

in Everquest II

Started playing Trial and after almost a day or 2, I'm done?  got to level 7 on fae and another char of 8th, but seems someone told me I cannot advance further than 10th before I get stuck and have to make a decision to pay to play further?  This seems like a pretty short trial...

The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

    What do you want, a free game?  Give them some credit, they are business people afterall.  Besides by lvl 10 you should have enough of an idea whether you want to play long term or not.  If you want to play a free-to-play game, there are plenty of those out there...

    What do you want, a free game?  Give them some credit, they are business people afterall.  Besides by lvl 10 you should have enough of an idea whether you want to play long term or not.  If you want to play a free-to-play game, there are plenty of those out there... 

    SUMB44, your logic sucks.  How is a 7 day trial a F2P game?  With only a 7 day trial why should it be limited at all?  I spent 4 hours downloading this demo only to be able to lvl to 10 in 7 days.  I highly doubt I'm going to know much about this game by them.

    actually this one reason is why I'm not going to continue....hit 10th level and cannot go further....was about to hit 11th but appearantly trials cannot go past 11th, so for this one reason, unlike other trials that I did actually pay for, I'm not going to pay for this game....

    So they lost business because of the limits they decided to place on the trial....makes me think the game is just a level treadmill and although it does seem polished, its not any better than a single player game that you don't havfe to pay a subscription fee for...

    It seems very equivelant to guildwars....

    No offense bud, but you sound like a huge whiner with that last post.   Keep in mind,  You get a general feel for the game.    There are buddy keys so you can go beyond the starting isle/area.   But its free.   The core game is about what? 19.00? I don't see why the hissy fit but whatever works for ya man.   Have fun.

    Actually my understanding was that its $39.99 for the complete game with all expansions and the subscription fee every month....which comes to over $100 per year....say you play for 2 years before getting sick of it, not counting extra expansions...that's not 19.00

    I said 19.00 for the core game... You get 30 days free with it.   Just yeah nm.  This isn't the game for you.

    Have fun in guild wars or whatever it was.

    It took me 6 hours to download a demo that only took a few hours to complete.  The game plays very well and I enjoy playing it.  But by capping me at lvl 10 and only letting me play on an island did a couple of things.... I didn't get addicted to the game and I only got to feel a small portion of the content of the game.... I don't need to play all the content of the game in a demo, I just need to feel like there is more, a lot more.

     

    I'm glad that I got to play the demo, but I feel like they could have hooked me into this game if it wasn't so limited.  I really want to see what I could do with my two new characters, but not bad enough to buy the game.



    Although I like Guild Wars, this is the best real MMO on the market right now.  WoW has no comparison.

    I have mentioned this before in other posts but for me, playing the trial hooked me in the first few minutes and I bought the game right away. You can get the original for $20 at D2D or all the Xp's plus the original for $40, which is a very good deal. If you liked the trial, you will really like the full game - it is essentially the same thing but with more layers and more immersive. I have been playing for 1.5 years and am not bored.

    There is a local micro brewery that my wife and I like to go to.  Often times they have a new brew and will bring you a sample for free  to see if you like it.  The sample is basically a few sips.  Take a few sips and see if you like it.  Using your theory, they should bring me beers for 2 weeks for free to see if it like it?  The trial is designed to for you to get a taste of the game, thats it.

    Using my theory I would not be getting free beer for 2 weeks.  I just want more than few sips.  I'm not saying that the trial was bad.  But other MMO's do offer deeper trials. 



    One brewery is offering a glass and the other is only offering a single sip.

    agreed, I played Eve online and although in the end am unhappy I played it at all, one of the nice things is that I was able to play for 14 days almost without hindrances for free......

    If EQ2 is worth its salt, why not let me play the full 7 days....limiting me to 10th level makes me feel I might spend $40, and really haven't tested the game enough to surely know I'd like it.....its not a true 7 day test.......

    Instead based on it taking so long to DL and so little play that I had trouble retrieving all the hard drive space after deleting it that its not worth my time, and unfortunately they lost a customer....seems buggy at least from the aspect of deleting it off my hard-drive...I encountered no actual noticable bugs in game, seemed polished, if not a little faulty with the limited 7 day trial as stated above....

    I'll wait for Gods & Heroes to come out......
