One of my reasons is the Game Masters (GMs) of this game are bad at their job.
1. Using their company or personal e-mail, they have messenger contacts with players of the game via MSN and yahoo. Therefore they make decisions biased upon what those players tell them.
For example, let us say you have a powerful character with good gear but you got hacked and it was stolen. And the person who hacked you has the GM on his or her messenger contact, what do you think the chances are that the GMs will help you.
2. They disregard any proof that a certain item belongs to you or how you got it. If someone reports a stolen item, they just log in, look for something that is similar to what was stolen and just take it away.
For example, a few days ago, one of my best friends on the game got the armor of one of his characters taken away because it looked something like an item which was reported stolen a few months ago. However when my friend and I submitted proof that the particular item they took from her was not the same as the item reported stolen becase she has had that armor for nearly a year now and it was me who gave it to her. They just ignored it and replied that the one we had was different then the armor they took from us.
3. They are told by their company/organization to prioritize their help to those who has paid real money to buy certain in-game items they sell on their website.
4. Sometimes you report/e-mail them telling there is a problem with your account, they either ignore you or takes days to reply.
There are other negative aspects of this game which I will post later, hopefully other people will post too telling of their experiences.
i think other people have their opinoins i really like the game and i think its great to play i have never had any problems at all except now every time i try to download it again something always happens and then it just stops dl
the dude is right about some things of wat he said. although im quite sceptic about the GMs helping hackers, i would persume it could be truth since i know they do have msn contacts and they help paypals ppl much more than other players.
now, even though i like the game, there are some things i really hate and they always make me wanna quit:
first off, hackers. it became so commonly to hear about ppl that got hacked every now and then. i, myself, got hacked few times too and let me tell u, it doesnt feel good...
and despite the GM's warnings and anouncments about them trying to do their best, the fact that it takes them alot of time to reply to a report, or sometimes even worse - ignore a report (and both of the things happened to me) only make quitting more considerable.
second thing - PKers. since its a free PK game at most places, it causes alot of troubles sometimes. i like the free PK sometimes, i cant lie about that, but at most of the times its not helping, for the least...lol
the DBs cost quite much and since most of the ppl cannot afford buying DBs from the site, it makes the economy pretty much messed up, cuz those who can afford to buy DBs, sell them at high prices and they never drop down, only rise up. this makes us a big headache as a non-DB buyers.
but, eventually, im still playing for more than 2 years already, and ive been through ups and downs all the time but this is how things r in all the games and life itselves so i got nothing to complain about...
and after all it is a fun game so anyone who havnt tried it yet should give it a shot. u got nothing to lose for sure...
well, what everything you said is true, because i basically got scammed by the gm (dragon gm). when you start getting all your double sockets the gm will eventually hack you. once you start owning the gm's friends, they'll ask the gm to hack you and gave your items to them and act like they know nothing. plus i notice the pm is not doing much but trying to act like nothing is happening.
1 - graphics really sux (it looks like Pagan, game of the early 90's if I remember)
2 - If you plane to play conquer online because it's free, you made the wrong choice : the patches 4336,4337,4338 making it so easy to be far better than anybody if you buy dragonballs (DB). DB are the way of the game company to make money - 5DB = $15.99 (normal to make money, but...), decent players buy for $30-$45+ per month. You have to know that it's a hardcore PvP game and that you can get killed (PK) anytime almost anywhere as soon as you reach lvl 20. As a result, CO is a game where you own and get owned. If you don't pay for a lot for DBs, you get owned... And even if you could (playing 24/7 for months), you couldn't own anyone who pays for DBs because he is blessed and you would get malus. But anyway, you would get owned by any descent player paying for DBs...
3- the game company doesn't do anything about hacking : a lot of people use cheats (speedhacking and aimbotting) and tricks (gate jumping in guild war) making it impossible to fight them (they level really quickly with aimbotting, and then just have to click once on your name and you are dead with their aimbot). Even if you have proofs (ingame videos), the GM won't even answer to your emails, proof that they don't care.
4- A lot of people are actualy quitting the game because of the importance recently given (patches 4336 and after, started early january 2007) to DB, as a result, the game shouldn't survive to year 2007. I've never seen so many angry players.
5- Quest system really sux (quests during hours for a really small reward, not worht the time): as a result, the game is really boring and you will have to hunt for dozens of thousands of monsters to level, during hours => only way to level....
6- Most people actually playing the game play for years, and no help is given to newbies (noobs) except for plvling (system where high lvl players get virtue points by giving exp to noobs by taking them in team). In the case where you are plvled, don't even talk or ask question to the player plvling you, he doesn't do that to help you, but to help himself (I do it too, I have a lvl 113 archer). By the way, the most common insult ingame is "you n00b !!!".... Always bothering when you are actualy a newbie... Is it a shame to be a newbie in a game? In CO... Yes...
Now compare it to some new free MMORPG (like rappelz or other), and their quest system, and your choice will be fast to do...
Hey, I've only played CO for about a year, and there has been TONS of help for newbies. And TQ has been doing things for hacked accounts, they even have a column where you can report it on their website. Also, unless your really rich in real life or just a money waster, your NOT going to get many dbs. And if you do, it costs two dbs to get 50 percent o your character. People shouldn't have 15 dollars to waste for one level in that game. It's true many people are quiting the game, but many are coming back and many are joining. The community is pretty friendly and there's always someone to help you if somethings happens. I will admit the quest system isn't that great, but that's why you get so much exp from monsters, you get exp a hit, not exp a kill, which makes up for it. And for your last comment, some have been playing for years but who cares? That means they LIKE it, and do look for exploits like you do.
Here's my advise: Find friends, hunt monsters, ignore quests, and TRY to enjoy the game.
Ok i would just like to say that i agree with the comment above about it being a pretty fun game with setbacks. I meen ya the new patches suck and now anyone can get to a high lvl but not that many people do! If you pick a relatively new server you will get noobs just like you and by the time you get to a higher lvl they will to, most likely WITHOUTdragon balls. On the otherhand it is a grind fest in the beggining but there is nothing better to be able to see ur character owning others because of the awsome PK mode!!!
My opinion: game is funny. Downside is that the owning company (TQ) is only interested in one thing and one thing only: profit. They do not care about anything else. So after the latest patches lots and lots of people complained (I doubt if lots of people really quitted).
Re. botting/hacking: this one is bothering me most. TQ says they want to ban botting. BUT they have an official bot jail (yeah, they do not ban players)... You can leave here for a fee of DBs... In other words, TQ = hypocrites.
Re. the support, there is a new rule: TQ is not taking up cases if the person has not bought over 20 DB-codes. So, if you do not buy and get hacked, you are on your own. But, you probably deserve that, because you can only get hacked when using third party progs or being really foolish by sharing your account info.
Re. the no help: it really depends on your server and on the guild you are in (if any).
In general the game is fun and addictive because of the PK-system. On the other hand, the game is really ugly, boring, boring, boring and above all boring (come on, killing the same monsters for hours and hours to get one level is fun?).
Haha here's what I posted about Conquer in another thread here, I'll repost:
How this pathetic excuse for an mmo ever got a 7.8 rating is beyond me, it doesn't deserve more than a 3 and that's being generous. Sucky graphics, worthless community, pathetic customer service, not to mention the game breeds nothing but griefers and cheaters. It's probably the single biggest waste of bandwidth ever to hit the internet and I feel sorry for anyone who makes the mistake of buying dbs from TQ and supporting that absolutely pathetic company. TQ wouldn't know how to create and maintain a quality mmo if their lives depended on it.

Yeah that is true. But on the other hand it may prevent others from starting this joke of a game.
And about trolling: go have a look at the conquer forum . It also gives you a good impression of the maturity of the community...
Hate to say I told you so
