Pre CU leveling vs. NGE Leveling

When I was playing pre CU I leveled two characters from combat level 1-80 and had two professions in one week or less.  The key was killing bols non stop and klinkets(whatever they where called) near the Mining outpost... I think that was Endor.  Anyway, I have read a couple of reviews of  people complaining  how NGE allows people to level too fast.  I can see what they're complaining about as far a leveling the Jedi tree.  I mean the reason I was so pissed off at NGE was because I spent 4.5 months grinding the Jedi crap and I was almost done and then the next patch people could become Jedi just with one click.  So, as far as raising combat level vs. PRE CU and NGE I don't think that has changed in a grinding sense.

That's just what I have experienced.  I could be wrong now because maybe SOE borked the leveling system even more.  I don't know.  I haven't played this game since they released NGE.

Not just fun but it took thought.

Just to master marksman you needed to use pistols, carbines, and rifles.... not to mention combat xp!

You played the CU. There was no lvl's Pre-CU.

Pre-CU you leveled by killing things over and over and depending on the profession, it took you a week or two to finish if you were serious about it.

In the NGE, you can level by completing quests OR you can do it the old way and kill things over and over.  Both will get you XP at around the same rate.  Most people take a month or more to get to level 90, although you could probably do it in 2 weeks if you went full out.

However, if ther had been more places and theme parks (like we asked for) like the warren, Corvette, DWB, then you would be getting xp while working towards a goal such as destroying the Corvette.

In essense these places would have been quests in their own way, and not the type of quest similar to 'goto point A and kill 12 banthas.'

Sure, and those are still viable XP for people to do now (if they're the right levels).  Not all the quests are as mundane as that, all the quests from ROTW and ToOW give XP too and alot of stuff there is pretty well done with a good variety of quest styles.

Ok plz stop trying to stand up for nge. you did NOT play pre-cu and the bolded statement tells it all because there was NO levels in pre-cu.plus u had more than 2 professions. (EX. Master Marksman Master BH Master Carb with some medic)

ya and dont compare pre-cu and nge. Nge is an excuse to experiment on a game to know what they shouldn't do in other games. Pre-cu was an actual game
