So I finally gave in and downloaded the 10 day trial.
I can't say the game is terribly ground breaking or pushing the envelope. But what I can say is that it's FUN.
Quests are generally easy to follow and give enough Xp to not require grinding (early on at least) and lead you to new areas appropriate for your level.
The graphics are sorta cartoony, but once I got playing I barely noticed. And the game runs like buttah on my machine which is a nice change from SWG/EQ2.
My warlock is only at lvl 19 after 3 days so I can’t give an opinion on the higher content, but I can say that I’m impressed enough to want to get to that point.
All in all I’d say that Blizzard has done a good job taking the best of the genre and putting it together into an entertaining product. Well done. 
And I know that those of you who’ve been playing since launch will just say, “Well D’uh.” But those folks like me who haven’t been there, done that, might enjoy the unbiased(?) opinion.

Hello glad you are having fun. I have a lvl 60 hunter on malestorm and can tell you it went like this for me.
Wow bought the game...WoW game runs well...WoW that was easy quest...WoW that was a easy lvl...WoW I dont seem to need a group to lvlup...WoW this GUi is so much like others made the learning curve nothing to jump right in and start playing...WoW that was another fast lvlup...Wow wheres my player housing...Wow look at all this gold I have...WoW didnt we do this insta 30 times this week...WoW this pvp has no pint what so ever except to collect points to colect gear so that you can collect more gear...WoW hey is that guy collecting the same suit I am looks like my twin...Wow didnt we do this insta 30 times already...WoW I guess they gave it the right name...WoW acct closed
This is what you really need to avoid at all costs, becoming one of those people that say they hate the game, yet are so obsessed by it that the trawl the forums for it just so they can try and prove why it is so bad......YAWN......YAWN......
At the end of the day, as long as you enjoy the game, play it. If at any point you find that you are not enjoying the game any more, move on to something that you do enjoy, it's pretty simple really. Just don't obsess.

Yeah, I figure if/when I'm not having fun anymore I'll just find somewhere new to bang around. I"ve played probably 2/3s of the big MMO's at one point or another for different lenghts of time and even gone back to a couple old ones to check them out again.
It does make me laugh how people feel the need to bash a game and 'warn' me that I'm not going to like it past a certain point. A couple disenters in a subscription base of 8million isn't going to sway me either way. But thanks for the input.
Oh, and what's even funnier is these posts by gold farmer sites. Just FYI, I'm a classic achiever. So I'll never pay real money for anything in a game. I would MUCH rather earn it myself with some hard work. But thanks.

I must say i like your style of ignoring the people who likes to bash this game.
I Really dont know why they use the "wow he looks like my twin" crap, i mean. the other games like EQ2 and stuff is the same, afaik that is.
i dont think there is a game where 2 of the same sets looks different from each other. and what game doesnt have the farming for item?
what other way would you suggest to gain reputation to buy recipes and craft great items for your guilds and friends?
and doin instances 30 times a week?, im sorry my friend but thats not possible, you can do mc once a week, AQ40 once a week, naxx once a week, ZG twice a week, aq20 Twice a week, and onyxia twice as week, thats 8 instances in one week.
and i dont know any guild that does em all in one week.
i also dont mind doing it, if you have a great guild, just playing wow and doing the instance over vent is hilarious and joyful. cant even count the number of times i've laughed my ass of when we wipe on onyxia because of that one noob who entered into the whelps, or the one guy who didnt get the poison at hakkar. etc etc.
i say, get a good guild and enjoy the game.
