I'm in there a lot during those hours also, usually quite a few people in there during those hours.

People come in and out of the chatroom all the time, unfortunately we are not fortunate it enough to have everyone grace us with their presence there at once.If everyone would stop in and wait a few minutes or so instead of exiting the chatroom so quickly then the population would gradually build.
It is easy to view mmorpg.com and chat at the same time, we have a feature built in to the chat where you can choose floating window which will create a window like chat such as Aim/Msn/Icq or any of your favorite messaging tools. When you have it set as "Embedded" (default) then it can become awfully boring unless you have two windows open.
The reason we lack population in the chatroom is because we really do not run any type of events or give the members any reason to really go in there, a lot of our members I find only grace the site for information and contest spots. Not everyone is a community kind of person who likes to conversate and just get to meet cool people, but some are and if they were to come in from time to time and just chill then the chat may just get a little more populated.
