Vanguard and EQ2

WackoGunWackoGun Member UncommonPosts: 38

Hello ppl I have a question about vanguard, since the graphics looks the same like the ones from EQ2 I was wondering if  the characters moves the same woody boring way as in EQ2 ?( wich is the reason I dont like to play EQ2)

As I heard many good things about vanguard I really dont like playing it if it gives me to much of a EQ2 feeling.

Hoping for a response :)

O yeah and a little edit I forgot to ask earlier, is PvP in the game the same as in EQ2 ?(If you die you lose money and items)

I really hate that EQ2 PvP system it just feels like the game isnt made for PvP wich I think it really isn't.

Character movement is worse than EQ2, on par with the original EQ.

It is hard to believe they spent 5 years developing this game, which makes me doubt if Sigil has the talent to fix the bugs and deliver what they promissed.  My feeling is that this game is headed down the same path as Horizons.  All the hype you read is the direct effect of the millions of dollar Sony is throwing at marketing this game.

I agree character movement is not as good as eq2 or wow, the characters look good until they move. They do look better with a cape and some better armor on so you dont have to see the body move.

Now wait there a minute!!! Are you telling me Vanguard is not an EQ 1 add-on???

Vanguards character animations are extremely poor.  EQ2's are excellent in my opinion.

EQ2 wasn't designed with PvP in mind.  It was added on later.  But from what I understand PvP in Vanguard is about the same and extremely buggy right now.

From what I read of the online interviews with the Vanguard teams,  VSOH is not an add on to Sonys EQ 1 or 2.  It was made to be a stand alone title.  Now of course, with any mmorpg that is going to be made, it's going to look similar to both the company's previous games and play a lot like the most popular games on the market because they are trying to figure out what people want to play most and try again to incorporate the best features from every game.  So to answer your questions directly, no, Vanguard has no relation to EQ other than through its looks and parent company.

Random11 was being facetious because many people believe Vanguard is the true EQ2 or EQ1.5 or EQ2.5 whatever...
