Neocron 2: New Payment Method Announced

Neocron 2 announces a new payment method via PayPal. It seems like we'll have to wait until the service is activated to find out more.

By the middle of next week another payment method for credit card users will be available via PayPal. More details will follow when the service has been activated.

I have been interested in trying this game. Is it so hard to pay that one would need to go through Paypal?

They've been using Click2Pay as the main payment method and they are a complete shambles at times.  Far too many reports of people being billed when they shouldn't be for my liking.  Although, I have never had any real trouble with them myself.  Pay Pal (which everyone on the official forums has been requesting for some tim now) will be offering a more stable transaction.

There are other payment methods too like Pay by cash but I'm not well versed in the alternatives to really advise.

    Check out the game anyway.

I have tried Neocron and must say i was pleasantly suprised with this game, my first impression was like this was a dated looking game untill i kept playing abit more and its just a game that doesn't use the basic concepts we now see mostly with mmo's, the graphics are a fresh attempt and look good once you get use to them, the gameplay is pretty different aswell from the norm but enjoyeble once you get a hang of it. Now what i must say is that not once did it feel i was playing a mmo, it kept feeling like a single player game, i have put in a couple of day's into this game but can not recall meeting anybody apart from npc's. I do think that indeed that Click2play might be the cause of that of the game being empty as in with rl people. In the end of my trail i must admit that the game is just not my type of game even tho i was suprised with some gameplay elements, but i might try it out some other time perhaps, this has nothing to do with the game not feeling finished cause to me it felt like a stabel and bugfree  ready to play game, but for now the gamemechanics are not those i favour at this moment.

This game was awesome and originally used to be payed via paypal, it was click to pay what killed it for a lot of people and dwindled the population.

When Neocron 1 was live the game was vibrant with a large population and was some of the best mmo fun Ive ever had and is still one of the most original mmo's Ive played.

I feel there decision to go back to paypal is good one but its too late to save what I consider the best mmo I've played.

I've never played the game, but it looks very interesting. I like the concept and setting of the game. If the game gets revived by Paypal, then maybe I will try it out.

Glad to hear that KK (Reakktor) is moving to Paypal for payment on this game.  There are MANY sordid issues with Click2Pay and the details can be found on NC's forums.

As to the game itself I played from the NA Launch for 2 solid years. Probably 8-10 hours a day. Never have I been so immersed in a game before or since.  The graphics are a little old, low poly count for most objects, and I'm sure there are still some bugs here and there, but what MMO doesn't ever get patched?

This is the first game that sucked my soul dry and left me wanting more. I'd love to see the populations rise to where they were 4 years ago, when outpost battles were HUGE. One of the best times ever had was a City faction storming of the Twilight Guardian HQ. Close to 200 people, on foot, in tanks, bikes, and troop carriers rushed in and laid waste to everything that moved.

Now they are going to Paypal... I will return.

Problem is too that PayPal is currently broken too. (at least for U.S. customers)  It is a mess and Reakktor has made no official word on it either.  They only respond, "we are aware of the issue..."  What a joke.  People are having to buy the game (most times for $.99!) and then email them the cd-key and account info just to play.  I am one of them and am waiting to see how this turns out.

This is so typical of poorly funded MMO's.  They pinch pennies and end up annoying the playbase to the point of leaving.

People have learned in this genre, that once abused, do not give them a second chance, it will occur again.

Had it not been for the fact that I found it for a dollar I wouldn't waste my time.  But the fact still remains that people do want to play this game and cannot because of poor setup with the registration.  It boggles me as to why any company would muck up the most fundamental part of joining an online community.

I don't understand what you expect KK to do about Paypal.  They have no influence over them and can't force them to do things differently.  They have a couple of other payment methods in place that work fine to my knowledge and thats all they can do.  The problems with Paypal isn't specifically Neocron either, they're cocking things up across the board (as mentioned in a previous post, for mainly US customers).

As of today PayPal has rectified their problems with processing registrations for Reakktor.  People can now use the PayPal system even if they live in the U.S.  Reakktor should be posting a topic referencing this on Neocron's website/forum soon.
