Can anyone recommend a good pve mmo with no forced-pk?

Hi, does anyone know of an mmo that's free to play, pve and has no forced-pk?  If pk is optional in places that would be ok, as long as I could progress through the game without being pushed  into a forced-pk environment.

I like exciting themes for mmo's, about everything is cool except for the kiddie stuff like Ragnorok or MapleStory.

If anyone here could recommend something for me to look into, thanks.

What you've outlined is a bit vague, so it's hard to say just what you might like. Rappelz seems to be mildly popular with the F2P enthusiasts, and it has a non-"kiddie" art style, from what I can see. I personally think Last Chaos has some interesting attack animations (probably the best I've seen of any MMO) and the characters and towns look good, but the monsters and outdoor terrain are pretty crappy-looking. F2P, though, assuming your system is powerful enough to deal with the horribly inefficient 3D engine. Silk Road is supposedly half-decent, though there's a lot of grind. I don't know if 9 Dragons is still in beta or not, as I stopped following it long ago, but you might like that too.

Free to play, pve with no forced-pk, and something that isn't kiddie looking like Ragnorok.

You mentioned 9D, I've been playing 9Dragons already, it's nice but what's ruining it is all the pve/pk debate.  The community is all in an uproar and aggravated because one side refuses to play if it's forced-pk (I'm on that side), and the other side are demanding a pk server.  Right now it's a no forced-pk server and an open-pk server is coming soon so everybody can be happy but still, it's such a screwed up mess there and Acclaim seems to kind of lean whichever way the wind blows and change things around with or without notice so bleh...  Anything is possible and nobody really truly knows what the Hell to expect.  So I'm looking around to see what else is out there that might be worth looking into.

I believe you don't have to do PvP in Scions of Fate but it would be boring with that hellish grind

I doubt the OP would want to play Scions of Fate after looking at some screens of it.

Thanks, I looked at the site and found something that said this:

    ...........................................................................................

    Player Vs Player Vs Environment

Other online role-playing games have PvE - player versus environment (fighting computer-controlled monsters) and PvP - player versus player (human-controlled characters) fighting each other. Last Chaos brings these two game features together in an evolving system. PvPvE manages the complex relationships and alliances between races and guilds; and allows players a chance to test out their fighting skills against other players. Last Chaos will continue to work with players to improve the PvPvE features to make the game more exciting and challenging.

    ...........................................................................................

Doesn't really sound like what I'm looking for...

There are plenty of non-open PVP F2P games. I don't know how many are actually playable, though.

I have been playing on one of the 2 non-pvp servers  for 2 months now & never seen anykind of pvp action .  the PvPvE exists only on the Pvp servers unlesss the whole community is just scared of me  :)  also I can't attack any of my friends  I have tried ..  you can turn on pvp  & have duels  ect  by clicking the turn on pvp button .  so if you don't click it you  non-pvp for life  :)

Ps : Play a Rogue using a Bow  they RULE!

If you use a bow, then you can't see the rogue jump around with the twin daggers like a madwoman. I've already said this, but the combat animations are really super in that game, even if everything else is either standard or subpar. I wish certain developers (COUGHCOUGH) would take a hint from these guys.

I am 44 years old & have been playing MMORPG's  for more than 10 years & yet my current game is Last Chaos .. I neither consider myself a kid  or a person that can't pay to play a game , while free game will not keep you entertained for years like  WOW , EQ,EQ2 , AC ect ect  they provide you with the opportunity to have some fun for a few months till you find something you like , Just because its free dosen't make it a bad game .. Open your mind to new opportunitys & adventures

Like most other pve players,  I've previously played in pvp settings and decided it just isn't for me.  I detest playing in a pvp atmosphere because in that setting, the focus tends to be taken off the game itself and placed instead on just watching your back all the time or else seeking out enemies; There is nothing even remotely appealing to me about that.

To me, a pve structure is about the game and all it has to offer, the challenges of leveling, questing, exploring the land, farming, grinding, working to improve your character and just basically having an interesting escape from reality for a few hours each day.  A pvp structure is about, well, pvp.  And what is pvp but a negative, stressful, wasteful breeding ground for griefers and troublemakers.  The rare and scarce amount of mature pvp players, hardly make up for all the idiots you have to contend with.  I just don't have the patience to put up with them.
