My 2 cents on the game.

I have read a little about the game but not much before relase and did not realize that I would see that big SOE logo on sign in and that oh so familar startup screen from SWG.  "Ok" I thought to myself, maybe SOE teamed with somebody else and learned from thier mistakes with the NGE in SWG.  I was mistaken.

Upon logging in to the game the first thing I noticed is how the game machanics closely simulated the SWG NGE.  It reminded me of when the NGE was deployed, characters running at top speed like on 8 cups of coffee, the control layout similar as well.  Now I could not find a togle key to toggle between walk mode and run mode and I scoured the controls pretty good.  The character movment was a real turn off since it's either sprint or stop.

The graphics were great although performance was a little laggy.  Once again this reminded me of SWG yet I always found it tolerable with a good video card, NVidia 6800 Ultra and lots of RAM, 2 Gig.  I play for the entertainment vaule more then the graphics.

After getting a little used to the sprit and stop movement of my character I started doing quests.  It reminded me so much of WoW, the NPC interaction, quest styles, nothing really origional.

I understand you can only deliver quests a limited number of ways so it will always look like any other game outside of the graphics but I was really hoping for a little somthing different in the player modles i.e. controling the character speed of movement, player character interaction and so on.

My two cents on this, it's a WoW knock off on a SWG NGE game modle.  No way I'm going to pay nearly $15.00 a month to be constantly reminded that SOE's influence on a PC based MMORPG development and production is based off of focus groups comprised of X-Box and Play Station gamers.  I was most dissapointed.

Once again, SoE had nothing to do with the development of the game.  And this whole  "sprint or stop" thing is such a little thing to ruin an entire game for you.  I think you just saw the SoE logo, and from then on you were just looking to hate.

Did you really played the NGE?  It's not like VG at all.

VG combat is excellent when grouped around lvl 12-13... it becomes another game.

Actually no, I was not looking to bash the game souly on the basis of SOE's involvement of it.  it just has SOE's design all over it.

I played SWG from release to well after the NGE and yes, this game has the same exact feel as that.  That's just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Due to issues I will not go into here, character control and movement is very important to me and does indeed turn me off.  Again, this is just my two cents, take it or leave it.

If a developer read this post and knew of others who mentioned the same thing and made changes than perhaps I would think differently.

NGE combat same exact feel as VG combat.... Explain yourself and quickly my friend... LMAO.

The only SOE design all over it in the launchpad.

It isn't a SoE game, it's a Sigil. SoE is publishing it. And the game doesn't feel anything like the NGE to me.
