So... These are my impressions of vanguard!!
first things first- Was this supposed to be first person? (seriously, because i never saw my guy!! LOL)
Ok, here's my opinion:
The diplomacy thing was pretty interesting.
Graphics weren't better or worse than anything else I've played (2.0 CD, 2gram, 7300GO - yes... a shitty laptop)
Gameplay was a lot like WoW
Wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be
It wasnt a BAD game, but from what I could tell from my limited MMORPG experience, it wasnt a great game....
I played for about 3 hours and decided to try and get rid of my account!!
Deffinitley a bit glitchy, but im sure all of it will get worked out in the coming months.
Overall... just wasnt the game for me!!

You dont need to watch a 3 hour movie all the way through to find out it bores you for the first 30 minutes.
When you started this game you enjoyed it right away yes? Right away? He didint, he knew it wasint the game for him.
How is this any different from you?

well, i started playing daoc and after 5 hours of playing I said to myself that the game is crap and I never play this shit again. The next day I gave it one more chance and played for some time. It was the next day from that when I realized that it isn't so bad game after all and now I think that it's one of the best mmo's ever made... So, I didn't like it at first but after I played certain amount of time I began to like it. I just think that one has to play mmo's for more than 3 hours to really say if one likes or hates it. Movies are a lot different than games and aren't really compareable

Nowhere in his post did he say the game was crap.
He said the game wasn't for him.
Who is the best judge of that ?
It is no secret, this game is not for everyone.
Why is it a surprise when someone makes an announcement that it is not for them ?
Does it really matter whether it took him five minutes, five hours or five weeks to make the decision ?
Are all so called "quick" decisions/judgments/impressions flawed or could they possibly save you
from wasting a lot more of your time ?

Its fine he doesnt like it.
However it isnt only 1st person, use the mousewheel and you can zoom out to 3rd person perspective.
I agree on the WoW interface, however, it is also EQ2 interfacey.... actually they took WoW and EQ2. threw both of em into a blender, removed the bads bits (majority of WoW imho), and out popped Vanguard.
I reckon the game is entertaining, isnt as easy as WoW and the background history and atmosphere that EQ2 lacked has been added.
Graphics are great also, no glitches there as far as i have experienced. Better than EQ2 and runs more smoothley also.
Sorry am i out of topic?
Cheers

The difference is that way to many people give up so easely, they don't give things any changes anymore, if i start to think about all the games i really like now or have played in the past, i think most of them i did not like from the start but came to like after experiancing the games some more, would this be a waist of time, yeah if i was narrowminded it would but for me it helps shape opinions and making you realize that the feeling when i started a game was either right or wrong. Yes i have watched movies where i thought the first 30 minutes sucked and boring like hell but became very good movies when you got past the sort of 30 minute intro of that movie. When i started WOW the first time i only played it for about 2day's maybe 5/6 hours total it was right on release and i felt that that game really sucked, was childish and didn't look all that good, tho i ended up playing that game for over more then a year because i was wrong when i started and needed to get use to the game. (read "game", wow isn't a mmorpg :P )Look i fully understand that if people that do not play mmorpg's or have zero experiance playing a mmorpg and gonna try such a game for the first time they might end up not liking such a game. But those that are atracted to the mmorpg scene can never make a opinion based on just a few hours cause a mmorpg is to complex to get to know in just a few hours, sure you can make a first impression and after some reall experiance state your opinion wich might be different from your first impression. Do you think the world would have made any progress if we made up our minds within a few hours without considering lots of different factors. I value opinions deeply and also respect them but they have to have some weight, and opinions based on just 3hours of play in a mmorpg has no real weight sort of speak.
