how the heck do u rasie your own chocobo to ride on your own???

Bring it to one of the three nations stables.
Talk to the chocobo raiser.
takes about a month then you get the runaround ,tripping back n forth then you get a chocobo whistle.You equip the neckpiece,then you can use it to call your chocobo.He lasts less time than a rental like about 5 minutes if hes first generation.He is also a little slower at least it seems that way to me.Be prepared to have to feed your choco everyday and quite often need topoko grass.The regualr gysahl greens that the npc sells there at stables doesn't seem to replenish your chocos energy as fast as say topoko or vomp carrots example.You also need to see your choco most everyday,the cheap prgram seems to be robotic in that it ALWAYS says your chocobo is doing fine under there care ,but then you find out hes sick or injured lol,its a contradiction .
Take your choco on walks whenever you can and he seems to want to compete alot otherwise he gets snippy lol.There is guides that go into alot of depth but this is all you need to know to get by.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
you need to get an egg, a License and then you need to feed it proper feed all the time and it take 30 real days for it to mature. So it takes awhile, not to mention good Gil
