in Darkfall

Let me start by saying Hello to everyone. I have had an mmorpg account for awhile, but never really logged in. Anyway...

I stumbled upon Darkfall while reading the comments about Ultima Online's new Kindom Reborn expansion. Someone stated that "Darkfall" will replace UO anyway, so don't bother with the expansion (don't quote me on that, but it was along those lines). So I thought, "what the hell is Darkfall? I'm sure it's another quest based, PVE, item hunting game that will try and compete with WOW's population". BOY WAS I WRONG! Darkfall looks to be the answer to my gaming prayers! I have been online gaming since UO came out in 97, and this is the closest any game will ever be to replacing the "feelings" of old school UO.

I quit UO shortly after Age of Shadows, then I played EQ, Horizons, EQ2, Guild Wars, and now I'm currently playing WoW. Now, for all of you WoW haters out there....I kinda agree with you :). I am only really playing WoW right now because my friends play it and its really the only good option until this game is released. When I told my friends about this game, they went nuts! We all can't wait to log on and make a difference in a world where the players run everything! I have been waiting for something like this since 2000 like most of you and hope that it is released soon!

I look forward to reading more posts and I hope the "Darkfall word" is spread even further!

    welcome to the club brett. i remember when i first heard about darkfall in 2006 i was checking the news for it more than i checked my e-mail (wich i dont check very often).    Ive been watching this game for a while though not nearly as long as some the the people here. But im just as excited. Any way brett if your gonna join any darkfall guild tell me cause i havent been able to find a good  one. Im gonna be on the sea as much as i can so im lookin for a pirate guild or clan.

    Welcome to the DF community.



    I'm one of the old folks from the DF forum and even as I thought the game was coming out in 2003 I've always belived it  will come out sometime. Becouse the devs have actually explained themselfs on a number on occations (people are just to lazy to actually read up on a game).



    Just remember that DF is an indie mmorpg produced by a company that has to do some defence work on the side to keep the project going. When it comes out and how polished it will be remains to see. Just dont expect it to come out when you want it

    I think its called the darkfall curse....

    You read about it and you cant play any other MMO for some time.

    Nice to see new ppl here, im not so old  here either.

     

    And check out the clan post too, to find a good clan to join...if you want...

    Thanks for the welcome guys. I don't think I will stop being excited for this game. However, I will continue to play current MMOs to keep my mind of DF. I will also check out clan pages. I plan on creating a archer/rogue hybrid. The Devs should just hire 200 more people and get this game in beta! lol, maybe not...but I will wait.

    Well DFO will not be a copy of UO it take alot of good gameplay from games like AC/UO and other games Darkfall will be unique when it will be released and by far better then UO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Quite so.  So many concepts die agonizing deaths beacuse of a lack of follow-through on the developers part, or on the publishers part, from trying to rush unfinished/unrealised product to market. How many times have grandiose features been promised, and then not delivered at launch? I say wait and see, no one can predict the future, especially in a fickle market such as this one. Don't ever set yourself up for dissapointment by pining over a game that is in the works. The more the hype, the harder the fall I always say.
