Great for a hold over game.

in Shadowbane
Shadowbane as a whole, is not a game one should take seriously. It is however the perfect game for a Hold Over. You know the game to play with your friends youv'e made over the years from other MO's. My online friends and myself after 3 yrs of Dark age of camelot and feeling sold down the river. Then being lulled to a drooled wet keyboard coma with the melonic sounds of EVE from hours of mining.....and mining..........and mining.....and AH..oh flash back sorry. So after feeling were waisting our cash waiting for the game we REALLY cant wait to sink our hooks in, Pirates of the Burning Sea. Shadowbane is the perfect free game to run with your buds until your antisipated game comes available. Now granted as a pay based game it wouldnt make it, what with the bugs, disappearing mobs, constant game timeouts and freezes. But hey its free, and its fun when it works. So as a hold over game its perfect. Now! That said. Could you imagine if Mythic, and UBI combined to make the worlds most amazing game ever made. With Mythic's game mechanics, with movement, pvp interaction, but with Shadowbanes utter freedom to pwn almost anywhere and user based kingdoms and citys?.Sheew gives me goose bumbs....I know I know Mythic sold its soul.....I know. But a feller can dream. And we both know that no bean counter will ever figure it out. But still.........just imagine

    Pay based no- in its current state it would not make it.  F2P its decent,  I love the gameplay, pvp and gvg.  If it had an updated engine and graphics, with a decent quest system and lore, who knows.  The Idea has potential

    I completely agree. We do need a graphics update. Long live Shadowbane!

    I was a beta tester of SB back in the day. I have returned after getting bored with WoW.

    I realised how I settled for less with WoW when it comes to PvP, looting etc. Shadowbane always had, as they say in Real Estate, "good bones". The problem was it was buggy as hell.

    Coming back to it now I see the graphics are much better. There is no lag. And the gameplay is stronger than when I left it.

    The grind so far has been painless.  No xp penalty for grouping. Before I know it I have levelled and get to make fun choices about skill allocations.

    A lot of depth, choice and freedom here.

    This game will tie me over for a while.

    This game is good but it has a bad control system and the game seems to be missing something important.
