I take it this game has no pvp? Such a shame, i love LOTR and all the other games out at the moment are just plain poo. So many pve based games around why so many more just keep on coming.
Because the majority of players are more interested in PvE. Look at the games that are currently out, most have a ratio of around 5 PvE servers for everyone 1 PvP server. Dev's put the money where the user base is.
They have PVP but its unique in that you actually play a monster mob and attack players in certain areas in order to increase your monsters stats. Its a good idea although perhaps allowing people to play orcs or fallen men would have been a better choice it should satisfy those who only want to PVP as a side game instead of all the time.
Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture.
Hmm that is the problem with the world....cater for the majority and the rest are just worthless subhumans.
Being able to play as uruks and orcs etc would of been crazy, even pve lovers would have to agree. Without pvp its like playing a singplayer game but while being in a chatroom.
The only pvp games i seem to see are those that are asian style games, and along with the other pvp games, aren't very in depth. And it seems that while people say most prefer pvp, isnt it funny that games like UO suddenly became worse when the pvp aspect of them was changed. Having a real virtual world where anything can happen is far more exciting than being told what can happen.

EQ2, AC, AO, DAOC, Vanguard, Guild wars, Shadowbane, WoW. To name a few. You mean you want a game that is 100 percent about PvP? Well then yeah, good luck. A developer has to cater to the playerbase if they want to survive. What good is a great PvP game if only 5k people but and subscribe to it? A company cant survive off of that.
I wouldnt really call EQ2 a pvp game, and all those listed have past there time. Neocron is the only pvp game that has been built around pvp that was actually decent and had a more in depth character progression. Thats the thing, when companys care just about money all you get is floods of bland games with no feel to them.
When people create things and have a passion for them, they are way better than things done just for the dollar bill. Same thing happens in music, indy bands producing really good music but dont get anywhere, while britney spears bounces around on screen and makes a ton. Sad world....so sad.
While I agree with what you are saying in principal, we have to face the music that companies are in business to make money. It would be like going to work everyday for free just because you love your job. Sure, its great you love your job but that won't mean much when the rent is due and your fridge is empty. This is part of the reason Im such a supporter of open source. A community pulls together and does a project that has nothing to do with the dollar. I would love to see a real open source MMO project.
I didnt test the pvp element as personally i dont like the idea of what they call "PvP".
As far as i am concerned they missed big time in regards to pvp. I mean come on when SWG came out you could play either side. In this game you can only play on one side.
Missed opportunity in my eyes but i guess if the PvE lovers like it more power to you. To be honest you spend more time questing than killing mobs.
There most certainly is PvP, it's called PvMP (player vs monster player). Players level 40 and up can play as their characters, and anyone can play as a Monster (Orc, Warg, Uruk-hai, etc). The PvP is similar to DAoC's RvR, with keeps that can be taken and held. Both characters and monsters can earn attributes and skills to use for PvMP. There are also PvP quests for both sides. It is limited to one zone atm, but that zone is quite large.
