Hi guys, I just wanted to know how you feel after spending months and months sitting in raids to get the top gear as level 60s, buying the expansion, and replacing all that gear with level 61 gear within days?
I just cant believe no one has complained about it yet. I stopped playing a while back, but my brother still plays this religiously and he is happily at it again, level 70, grinding for the best gear every night. He doesnt seem to care at all that months and months of raiding is essentially wasted now. He complains about how boring the raids are, but he keeps on doing them to get that gear. I have no idea whats going through his head, can anyone enlighten me here?

maybe just the desire to be the best and nothing to do... tell him to get a girlfriend they usually take up more time
with the best gear all you can really do is pvp... but thats about it, goodluck
Well, what you would expect? Game stop developing? no new gear? no new dungeouns? no new nothing?
I do not think so. Come on this happened before with the various instances added... each once had better gear in it, this is no different. The fun, as always, is in the travel. Yes, the gear is cool to look at, but it has the finite value of a a wall trophy...
Beside, I think Blizzard put on a weight plate the people that would be upset for getting new gear () and on the other the people upset by the abyss between blue stuff and purple stuff... guess which plate had more people?

Besides, gear are only to help progress, besides that they are useless.
My gear is better than Tier 3, some say it's stats resemble Tier 3.75, and yes, I'm wearing all greens. Level 61 Warlock, 7300 mana, 6800 hp.
Yup.

Final Fantasy 7
I should add that my boots, shoulders, and cloack still completley bite (late 40s early 50s blues)...and my neck and one of my rings is only OK (lots of sta, but little int or +damage). I also have almost no enchants, STA armor kits, or +spell damage threads in my gear. While he may be exagerrating a bit, it seems possible to me if he did some research and kncoked out the right quests or was on a server with a good AH.
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
Sooner or later you will replace your gear. But it won't happen as fast as many say it will.
People shoulden't be mad, without spending time in raids before they would start to complain that WoW offers no end game. This way its like starting over again and gives hardcore players something to do while keeping the casual players happy.
I have heard that tier II gear is mostly replaced by the time you are 64, and that some tier III gear might last you to 66-68. On a per piece basis the Tier II stuff does not stack up well with the easy low 60s greens, but you have to keep in mind set bonuses.
There is also the vanity factor. For example, you can get 58-61 green cloth shoulder pieces with astounding stats that use the exact same graphics as level 17-22 white and grey cloth shoulders (I'm not making this up). You won't have armor sets that look as cool as your 60's epics until you get serious about running the end game BC 5 mans. I would imagine that is a real consideration for some players.

I leveled a Priest to 60 a few weeks prior to TBC. I had a few UBRS drops, but nothing too amazing. Walked into the portal and haven't been pack besides skill purchases.
I am totally decked out in Outland gear at 68. I have around 450 spell damage. Which is a huge upgrade for me. Also, my hp/mana sky rocketed with the addition of int and sta to almost every slot.

If you havent replaced any tier 2 by level 66 then well you suck. You're just holding on to that because you spent months getting it and now you're holding on to it for dear life because you're stupid and stubborn.
I have level 66 quest greens better than tier 2. I'm fully decked out in quest greens, quest blues, and level 70 instance blues and tier 2 would be a majot step down for me. Heck, even tier 3 only has me really beat in 2 categories.
Lol, I can even craft stuff blues better than tier 2.
Let go of the past people.
Theres two ways to look at old gear....
1. You used it to lvl now go do instances and replace it.
2.You used it to lvl now go pvp and replace it.
I have 7/9teir 3 and duel servos on my rogue and i quickly replaced my servos with the consortium/scryer daggers. I raided enough to know that i really dont like raiding or instances. So i plan to just pvp with my teir 3 and replace it as i go. First 5 epics are easy (breaking set bonus for greens is retarded btw)
