PvMP takes place in a non-instanced region. The only way that you can enter the region as a player is by accepting travel there via a travel location. Entering as a monster player requires that you use a fell scrying pool -a device that allows you to peer into the darkness and take on the guise of one of Sauron's minions for a time- and accept entry as a monster.
Monster choices are Uruk Warleaders, Uruk Black Arrows, Spider Weavers, Orc Reavers and Warg Stalkers.
Uruk Warleaders are a brutish mix of battlefield commander and heavy armored troop. They inspire their troops through derision and insults while cleaving their enemies with their fierce weapons.
Uruk Black Arrows are missile units capable of dealing heavy damage at a distance. They are also capable melee foes.
Spider Weavers function as crowd-control for the monster players. Strong webs can root opponents where they stand while poisons will sear the insides of the most stout hero, the strength of such poisons can often stun an opponent leaving them open to assault for a short period of time.
Orc Reavers are savage combatants wielding two weapons with one desire, to spill the blood of their enemies. They use their savagery to cleave through their opponents quickly, slowing them as they try to flee or giving them a merciful kill as they near defeat - then these berserkers revel in their victory to claim even more potency.
Warg Stalkers skulk in shadows and pounce on their enemies causing brutal damage very quickly while acting as a forward shock troop and support for the larger races of the forces of Angmar.
Monsterplay was real fun, and a lot more my style than the original game. Its a big flipping zone, with its own quests, shops, equipment and advancement, playing a new class. The orc side fit me better, and when I went in there the first time I felt "This is where I will stay" Unfortunatly, now in beta, very few are in there, and its not much you can do on your own, but I know, I am absolutly certain, when the game is live and the max levels start appearing, this place will be packed... Absolutly packed. And then the game turn into DaoC PvP and... No matter what I think of the game as a whole, I really want to see that, it will be amazing

The monsters used by players for PvMP start at level 50, the max level. So it's very unlikely (they've in fact said so) they'll open them up because they don't want level 50 monsters roaming through lower-level areas. The area is a pvp-zone, though--it's quite large. Within that area is a series of watchtowers that the two sides can fight over as well as quests and stuff.
The monsters are permanent--that is, you play your monster each time--which can be individualized and advanced (just not in level since it's already at max).

It would be nice if they opened up battle grounds for other levels of monsters, just like they did in DAoC, so that players could participate in PvmP before reaching max level (which might take a while).
Let me try to show the size of the battleground for those that is not in beta.
This is me looking down towards the middle keep that is one of those that can be conquered.
To give you a way to see where i am in the battleground and the size of it i can try and show it with the battelgroundmap.
The red triangle on the map is me and i'm looking down on the tower in the middle of the map.
There is a lot of space in the battleground to hunt in so in the future it could very well have battles as big as the relic raids in DAOC with more than 150 players in the same area.
One of the main reason why I will not be buying this title is due to this limited form of PVP.. I mean seriously they could have just given people one server with this PVP ruleset(humans vs Monsters) and turn it into a RvR server, but instead they decided to do this PvmP crap.
Mark my words I said it on Feb 12, 2007. When this game launches and they see that they are not as successfull as they had hoped they will pull a COH, EQ2, DnD Online, ect and try to expand upon PVP. You would think that they would have learned from the others that when you have limited PVP or no PVP at all that your game will fail, but I guess some people do not learn from history.
I give LOTR 3 months(after release) untill they start brining a change to PVP, but by then it wil be to late if you ask me.

I too would like some more options in the battlegrounds so it played a bit more like DAOC.
But saying a game will flop because there is limited PvP is just not correct.
WoW has more than 8 millions subscribers and their PvP sucks big time even on the socalled PvP servers.
I know because i played on a PvP server in WoW.
So a game can be highly succesful even with crap PvP.
I hope that in future patches that they add some kind if siege engines into the battlegrounds just like DAOC has and hopefully latert on there will be several MPvP battlegrounds.
When you're in the Monster PvP battleground you don't feel you're not PvPing when you run into a bunch of humans playing their lelve 40+characters.
It's your group monsters Vs the human players and you get the same PvP feeling as in all other games.
After release When there is enough level 40+ players on a server the monsterbattleground could very well be a place where 150-200 players battled it out between monstersplayers (level 10+ players) and players level 40+
I hope battlegrounds lives up to the hopes i have for them.
Comments
Don't think area.
Think a large DAOC battleground x 3 or so.

Sorry this is such a brief write up.
