What Should Have Been Done . . .

ShoalShoal Member Posts: 1,156

*  Employee(s) should have been fired on the spot

*  Players in Corp should have had all their ill-gotten gains confiscated

*  Major Corp Officers should have been banned for life

*  Corp should have been permanently disbanded

Now, that would have sent a real message.

    Yep.

Not that what they did didn't send a message.  It's just its unfortunate the message was:

"Yeah, we cheat from time to time - sometimes you may even catch us.  Lets all not get too put out about it.  Time to move on."

Now then, invent a time-machine and then your concerns may mean something.  In the mean time all we have is people bringing up the same tired old shit over and over.  Hindsight FTL

Actually - if CCP unlocked the threads, responded to the issues directly, and fired T20... along with making some kind of accountable commitment for the future... humm..

Admittedly its getting close to being to late for even that though.

    1. really only 1 dev that should have been fired that was T20 he was the one who spawned the free Tech 2 bluprints and set up the secret network thingy.

    2. They did the blueprints were confiscated as for the ships made from them they were sold to honest plasyers who thought they were ghetting legitimate products so they couldnt be taken.

    3. I agree certain corps whos leadership knowingly supported this should have been disbanded and the leadership accounts banned.

I agree that T20 should have been fired (and I support CCP mostly in this whole thing) because him retaining his employment has given the message that CCP support the cheating he did. I understand that he wasn't fired at the time, as those who were there at the time to punish him didn't have the power, or will, to do so as the main Devs were on holiday. But he needs to be sacrificed now, or should have been sacrificed, in order for CCP to retain more of their credibility.

The ill-gotten gains are harder to do. The BPOs were removed, but any profits or kills gained by their use (knowingly or not) are impossible to remove because they are impossible to track.

The corp CEOs should not be banned. They may have been aware of T20's existence within their alliance or corp, but that doesn't mean they were aware of the illegality of the BPOs. It would be unfair to ban them.

The corp should not be disbanded. Even if the leaders of RKK were aware of the wrongs involved here, the average members were certainly not, and that would be going to far for them.

They've disbanded other corps for less.

I agree, though, it would be pointless. All of the dev alts in BoB would just switch over to the SECOND most powerful faction in the game.
