I recently installed Windows Vista Ultimate onto my pc! First thing i did was look at the media centre, i played some music and where was my sound!
I then found out looking on forums that some sound drivers are NOT compatible with Vista, and ones that are have alot of problems with them. I suggest looking going on the windows website for more information or typing your driver name into google with the word 'vista' next to it. This will come up with alot of forum posts which may help you.

My sound driver never even crossed my mind, and i would bet it doesnt with alot of people, especially people who have intergrated sound.
1. It will auto install drivers for all your stuff, or..
2. Provide you with a link to where you can download the driver for whichever devices did not auto-install, or....
3. Do nothing if X hardware is just plain not supported by Vista, meaning it is just outdated end of story.

Aint that the truth, you'd think the most basic driver components of one OS would be ready for another. Whether it be from the disk to a install method, aw well could worse.
Could of been your video.
