If you had to choose between these 2 titles which would you play?

Ouch that's an extremley hard question knowing they both hardcore games. But Seeing that i love RTS (Real Time Stragedy) i'd have to go with AoC.

I absolutely love the sound of both, but really my choice was made easy by the graphics... I was dissapointed with Mythic turning to more cartoonish graphics compared to their previous DAoC graphics (which I love )

Sorry but I just can't stand those graphics!!! Both look like great games though

Also the RTC sounds like its gunna be an awesome and new thing to try, I can't wait for it... Been doin a little Mount and Blade to practice up!

Real time combat / Mount Combat sounds great so ill go with AoC .

I like the graphics in AoC more aswell

I hesitate a lot between these two titles. I'm a bit worried about WAR, though. I read that the game will be focused on perpetual war. Everything (questing, crafting) being war oriented.

Since war means PvP, I'm afraid they will bypass the PvE part of the game, implementing poor quests, reduced PvE content to push people into full time PvP right from the start.

I hope I'm wrong.

its hard for me to say which 1 i would will buy. most like i will get both, i feel myself lend toward AoC just for the idea both single play and mmo. also mount combat is long over due

your in the AOC board, chances are everyone is going to vote AoC...not if you went into the WAR board, they would vote WAR.

I am actually in the middle and check up on both games constantly, I believe that i will play boht, but atm i am leaning more to WARHAMMER, only because it has he bigger chance of leaving an impact on the MMORPG genre.

You are correct when you say this is the AOC forum. I would like to point out that there are a few simular threads on this topic and each were suprisingly civil debates. Could be a clue to what kind of community we will have, which looks good.

I can't afford both games. Going to college again for another degree so I don't have the time or money for both. But I am picking one, and it's AOC. I just like the dark setting. I hope it will hold my attention for a few years, because nothing looks good on the horizon.

I think they will both do well, with WAR having a larger sub base. But I won't get into why I think that.

you are very correct, many of us do not have the time nor money for 2 MMO's at the same time, that is why i plan to pay attention to the media (not trolls

) as to which looks to be the finer game, i do not plan to pay for both subs, perhaps i will try them both and quit the one i find less entertaining.

My strategy is similar except I will start up with only AoC... If it lets me down (or if I hear enough about the goddiness of WAR) then I will activate it for a month and quit the one I like less...

Both look very good. but I want more than just Elves, I want Conan humans. So probably AoC.

Yeah I am personally getting bored of elves and dwarves and orcs etc. So I am really looking forward to a more realistic type of PvP and gameplay in general.

I never played a Warhammer game, know barely anything about the previous games or the MMORPG, and have no real desire to look into them.

That being said, I am going to have to go with AoC.

Overall my reason is that AoC seems to be the revolutionary step in MMORPGs that the genre seriously needs. In other words, Funcom is taking a chance and developing a game they believe will be fun, not one that they players of WoW or EQ would find fun.

It is really hard to tell before I have tried them both, both AoC and WAR look promising and innovative (both in their own ways). I have been following both closely and the way things are looking at the moment, I will pick up both, play them a some, compare and decide (and cancel the other subscription).

From the information I have seen, I am definately leaning towards Conan. I believe it will attract a substantial fanbase of mature gamers which, for me, is a major factor in how long I will play a game. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay has to be enjoyable as well, but nothing ruins a group, or community setting faster than people with no respect for others.

If Gods and Heroes doesnt pan out very well I'll be looking towards AoC. WAR just doesnt interest me at all.

Both interest me equally.

I will play BOTH if they are good that's for sure. AoC might be what I can dedicate to and WAR what I can play for fun in shorter periods.

I am afraid that WAR is going to become the new WOW. and now i am not talking like its a positiv thing. becuse it will atrackt a lot of "non mmoprg" players that just runs around and call people n00bs. I think Conan will have a bethter comunity.

But WAR seems fun in its own ways. but i dont like the cartoonish look. and i am not a verry big fan for PvP.

Conan on the other side looks great in graphics and has drunken brawl fights! ( now thats cool PvP )

i think i am going for conan in the first period and see if maby WAR realeses a trial or somting

wow, i hope your right, so tired of pve based mmo's whats the point realy, play a game whit thousands of players, and you want more

AI? more computer controlled mobs? i wish there was less, in every game, if you want mobs and little cute quests why not play a single player rpg? i just dont get this image of the questing mmo, real people, real fights, real action.

both these games look like something some of us been whaiting for for a while. i think the pvp whil be a bigger focus in war, but the look

of aoc is way more intersting, althow we have to remember, so far, games that look to good wer never good, funfactor before graphics.

i will try both, hopefully they wont come out the same month:)

One thing is for sure, mythic making an rvr game, if your old school daoc, i know your gona at least try it.
