Or don't.
But I say, if you want to be taken seriously then PROVE that you are an active player. Some folks here love to run down Vanguard left and right. How can you expect to be taken seriously if you don't even play the game. Things like, "I tried it, it sux!' is not going to cut it.
I mean, if you are not a current player why are you wasting your time in this forum? SERIOUSLY, think about that for a moment.
I'm here because I play the game.Prove that you play. Get Xfire and if I see you actually play then I'll be more inclined to listen to what you have to say.
My
guess ("eye-balling it") is that about 75% of the negative things said about Vanguard here is by people who have NEVER even played it. Then maybe 15% by people who played it for a few days, and those who just hate it because they logged in only to find they could not play the game on their rig.
That leaves maybe 10% (still a lot) of actual players who have legitimate concerns (by what I can discern by reading these hate threads).
So either
prove you are a fellow player or expect to not be taken seriously by very many people.
Seems most (not all) of the nasty hate is coming from certain ex-SWG vets (I'm one too, played since 2003) that hate Vanguard because of SOE and what they did to our game.
NOTE: I'm sure that the first responses will be from people who actually have Xfire (or whatever) and
can prove they play, but just have nasty things to say. That's expected. But those will be
very few compared to all the mud-slingers in these forums who
can't prove they have given this game a fair shake
or have ever even played it./peace all
I miss the good ol' days when nerds were actually intelligent.
Comments
hehe if u dont like ppl bashing the game u like then go play ur game instead of trolling the board and worry so much about what other ppl said. And if this game is so great why is the population is so low?
Why would the people who hate the game, still play the game?
If you tried it and didn't like it, G'bye.
Oh and on the subject of the SWG there is practically no other game that i've heard of, expect perhaps Ultima Online that can compare to it, so unless your actually going to bring me a proper list of info and quote and maybe even screenshots to prove your point I won't believe a word you've said and my suspicions about SOE's fanbase would have been proved correct. If any of you have actually bothered to listen to the MMORPG.com the co-host said that as long as you have info and proof to back up your statements then there's actually no reason why you can't complain about an MMORPG, and the majority of people who complained about Vanguard did as far as I could see, so just leave us alone and we'll leave you alone.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
Man... create a char on Varking, send me a private (on this site) and i'll show you around. People are everywhere.

Also how much do i have to play to earn the right to flame the game?
Means of transportation - Check
Good crafting - Check
And SWG could have been excellent BTW... but it was only good. They just didn't have a clue and community was so demanding that well... it fail

I cant prove i played besides taking a picture of my SOE account showing a trial on there(being vanguard)
I even made a post , you can go ahead and read that if you dont believe me.

I play, have a 14 cleric on Flamehammer...
Been doing the Ksavari quests in Easter Qalia as of late, the lags and bugs are really starting to wear on my patience... The latest group bug is especially a pain in the ass...
Last night I had that familiar sinking feeling when the lag got me killed... That feeling of "this game has potential, but I think I might have to quit"... This game is an SWG experience all over again... They need to fix this shit, and fix it fast... Even in /1 Eastern Qalia chat, people are getting real bent out of shape due to the mess this game is in...
Also, the more defensive all of you people are getting towards criticism of this game is a tell-tale sign of the shitty state of VG... Lighten up, as of now, this game is a big heaping pile of dogshit ontop of a gold brick... The technical problems are so widespread, that anyone who claims they aren't having performance issues are either a) lying or b) don't play...
I love playing my cleric (when it is playable), but the invisible mobs, backwards walking mobs, lag, group bugs, broken abilities and shitty animations are becoming more noticeable with the attrition that is ensuing... I hope this next patch is somewhat of a silver bullet...
Sorry, I don't have $50 to waste everytime someone poops out a MMO. I'll take the majority word for it and pass.
It's pretty clear that everyone has stated not to bother buying the game for a few months.
People are already quitting.
Too many bugs.
System requirements aren't a valid excuse in my book. So I won't count those.
People are already getting close to max level. So what happens in a week when everyone is maxed out?
There are no official forums for support or community.
No purpose for PVP. Granted, it is suppose to be a PVE game.
Low population. Lots or people still waiting to see if this game is getting fixed.
SOE.
Banning/suspending players if they have large amounts of gold. To investigate if they are gold farmers.
The community isn't that great. Ask a question in game, you get answered back like "Go back to WOW noob"! Or players posting in websites that want bugs fixed get flamed.
Shall I go on as to why I haven't gave them $50 of my money yet?
And if it's so good, then why aren't you playing. YOU and a few others here are ALWAYS on this website 24 hours a day, posting within minutes. Did you lose intest in the game already?
If it's THAT good, why do you feel the need to defend it? Why won't they open an Official forum (because they don't want potential customers to see negative posts).
Do I really need to pay $50 to tell you that?
The best part is, I didn't make any of that up. IT'S ALL TRUE.
If people don't like the game, they can bloody well post as much as they want about the game, in any way they want. It's up to people to believe them or not. We do have free speech after all...
Fanboys moving against the free speech if you don't speak positive about their game, haha great, that must be a new record.
Edit - the fireworks were pretty though!
Nice one.
Great post. I have to agree. I don't think I've seen any game that has so much bad press coming from people who never even tried the release version! If I were Brad, I'd swear people were "out to get me." Luckily their fine product is like teflon and the sh_t flung at it just doesn't stick.
Unless, by some miracle, I am the only one having a blast at the game and finding the bugs to be very much overshadowed by the fun it provides.
Luckily, i don't need you to like me to enjoy video games. -nariusseldon.
In F2P I think it's more a case of the game's trying to play the player's. -laserit
Sure, keep telling yourself that.
Look around sport.
I seem to attract the most intellectual rebuttals... I've been graced by such rebuttals as "yah you are so stoopid, think again." or "try again sport." These really make me question my opinions.
/edit. Pure, I acknowledge bugs in my post, above. Want to know what bugs I deal with?
1. Rarely, surfaces in the game appear completely blank white. Sometimes where a big boulder should be, I see a big white spot in the shape of a boulder. If I turn my torch on or off, it sometimes fixes it.
2. Every two hours, or so, I crash to desktop. It takes me about 45 seconds to recover from that.
3. Mobs sometimes dissapear when fighting. If you have aggro, all you have to do is backup a few feet and viola, the mob is back in view. If it dies when invisible, you just type /loot.
These bugs are so minor and have practically no effect on my gameplay. As I said, the fun I have in VG far overshadows these infrequent and brief inconveniences.

So go ahead, if you feel like it, and add stuff in my post.

Ok, how about this.
PROVE ME WRONG.
I have played it since pre order. I am a casual gamer and have been having a blast. The poplulation is not low, there are people all over my server. The only issue I have with the game is the hard drive hitching when you enter an area for the first time, other than that I think it's a good game. A bit of optimization and a bit of tidy up of some bugs and I think they have a product I will pay to play for a while ot come.
PS my system is a solid spec, don't know what it would be like on a compuer that mummy bought for little johnny.
