Vanguards Population

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
Hey Im interested in Vanguard, and recently ordered it. I didnt really care that people said it was glitchy and its pvp was lacking, cuzz im just hoping that they will eventually fix them. But I was wondering What the total game population was, and how the pvp system works. Thanks guys.



o and, which server has the highest population, or does it say next the the server when choosing. Looks like a beautiful game, hope to start playing soon!

    Its not like im gunna return it, I was just curious since I wont be getting the game for about 1 week

    I play on Theridon, FFA PvP, and when I log on it's usually medium load before primetime.  Most all of the other servers are showing high loads. 

    I can say there are a hell of a lot of people running around when I'm playing.

    Im on Targenor and being in Australia I play the graveyard shift for you guys. Even at those hours the server pop is usually reading medium and in Halgarad there are always 20+ people around the crafting area.

    Frankly its doing a little better in terms of pop than I expected.

    Nakedone, you have to control your negativism.  A positive outlook on life really does work better.  There are several reasons to inquire about pop ranging from choosing servers to just simple anticipation.  If you had made plans to attend a night club, wouldn't you be curious about how many people would be there?  Did someone designate you as the "rain on everyone's parade" dude?

    I also have one more question, there is alot of negative feedback about this game, the people that like this game, what makes u like it, other then the amazing graphics =) cuzz im really looking forward to playing it, what is the best part?

    Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.

    Interesting... a gf of mine sent me a buddy key and I got it all patched up and loaded yesterday.  At NO point was any server above medium and the servers I did log into werent crowded by any sense of the word.  This was off and on from 4pm to 10pm pst.  Around 8pm pst around half the servers were on light status with the others still at medium.  Why is it that the vanguard fanbois need to exaggerate concerning every little thing about this craptastic game?

    Well I must ask why must you lie about something you have no idea about. Usely from 4pm CST to around 11pm most of the servers are on high population or locked because they are full.  Out of the last 7 days I have logged in I have only seen 3 servers on light population and that was around 10am or so CST time. All the other times the server I play on is usely high or locked from over population. In the DE starting area there are around 23 people geather in the crafting area and atleast that many more out in the zone fighting and questing. Beacons point I see around 15 people picking up quests and selling items right now.

    And that is just in the 1-15 zone area for the DEs alone. I have seen the same effect in other races starting areas.

    I highly doubt this game is as bad as people say, I havent played it yet, but from the OFFICIAL reviews I have seen they say its a great game, but some bugs need to be fixed.



    and... I was just reading some other posts, and I saw like 10 that said the servers we on high population, so I doubt so many people would lie. Cant wait to play with u guys!

    First- You obviously have never seen or read a "paid advertisement" editorial have you?  You can go on TV any given saturday morning and see info-mercials with the same exact concept. I am not saying ALL reveiws are skewwed, but I would say a majority of them will not bite the hand that feeds them. Imagine that, many of these game magazines get paid to write a reveiw. It is a valid and well practiced marketing technique. I have seen more reveiws so skewwed they barely mention the major flaws in this game. They spend more time talking about "potential", "the immense size" of the world, and the so called "stunning 3rd gen graphics".



    Now is this game as bad as most say. It all depends on how you feel about paying to beta test. This game is a looong ways from being polished. It is also in need of some serious optimization both client side and networking. Graphics are rich IF you have a top of the line computer. If not, you might aswell go play the original EQ because that is about the quality with the settings at high performance.



    My personal recommendation, if you really feel this game is for you wait 3 months. You will know by then if they are on the right track to fixing this game or not.

    Sometimes I check in on the game around 3AM and the servers are almost all at low population, but at prime time a lot of them hit high population (the roleplaying server seems to be especially high population).  Most sit at medium.

    Its hard to say though what low/medium/high means.    I've never noticed any lag when the population is at high (except for my personal compies lag at displaying more characters on screen) so I think that even at high the servers could probably handle more strain.  This might mean high isnt really as high as the word might seem to imply.

    Personally I always wish mmorpgs would have more players   Vanguard isnt an exception to that, although it seems wayyy more populated than SWG, EVE, and more populated than EQII (probably because I only got to level 15 in EQII and all the players are higher level than that).  The Vanguard servers are said to handle much more players at a time than most mmorpgs, but the world is also larger than most mmorpgs, so the players still spread out a lot and I dont really like that much.  Fun game though, IMO.

    well that sucks, u sure they didnt reset character lvls back to lvl 1 after the beta was over? some games they delete all your beta characters, they could have just reset them.

    This is almost definitely false...  more populated then eve? umm  maybe on all the servers combined, but eve gets  30k on weekends and that you will never see in a wow,eq,vg type of game.

    Like I said the vanbois can do nothing but exaggerate, the time in the lower corner of these screens is PST... It does seem there are a few more folks on tonight than there were last night and thats fine.  But notice only 1 is on high which it wasnt last night at any point.  But also notice something.  I am the only one of the people here that will show proof of what I am saying unlike the vanbois who's first instinct is to jump to name calling and exaggeration.



    Do whatever you want but understand that these people that lie and name call are the exact same people you get to look forward to seeing when you log in.  I'm out for the night. unlike those people in vanguard I actually have a date :P  later!
