a LOTR dev comes here and promises me that there will be no end game raiding with more than 12 players( or whatever 3 groups is).

ive heard only good things about this game, but that is my sticking point. I dont want to play a game to only be foreced into hardcore boring raids at the end.

You can make 4 groups of 6 into a raid group of 24 in lotro.

As far as i have heard it not needed with 24 players to take on the hardest instances later  but not sure.

I don't think you have to fear that Turbine will turn this into a rading hell like WoW.

Bah i heard group size was 4.

Guess not.  All 6 gets you is more waiting.

hmm 24 is too many. I guess i wont bother unless they change it to 16 or less.

Rungard... read his post carefully. It says 24 is the max but 24 players is not needed for even the hardest instances.

Either design your own game to suit your own specific demands or find another hobby.

And either way stop bleating to us and go cry on Mommys apron strings.

Sorry guy but you really do come across as a spoilt brat.

Meh, your loss. I'm pretty sure you haven't been keeping up with this title as if you have you'd know that they do have raids, but the raids are not mandatory, period. They are solely in the game for folks who like to raid. Aside from coming together to complete the raid and that feeling of accomplishment, one of the key reasons people raid is the gear. It's been stated time and time and time again that you can get equivalent (and don't misinterpret the word equivalent as anything other than equivalent) type/level/uberness gear from normal grouping, from player crafting and on the very, very rare chance a drop while soloing. So depending on your playstyle you can get the top level gear. Sure it won't have the exact same name and the exact same stats, but overall greatness will be comparable. *shrug*

you are going to be soooo wrong on that.

the dev report specifically said that the best stuff will come from raids, went on a raiding rant of epic proportions and then said in a quiff that there will be places to get good solo gear.

you are soo gonna get burnd believing that equilivent gear will be had by players.

no one would raid if that were true. Hell no one would even group.

Actually you are the one that is very wrong, i will not go search the news logs and interviews for someone such as yourself, but i promise you that they have stated that you can get equivalent gear through multiple ways.  Besides many people enjoy raiding, they really do, the ones who like it just dont go screaming on the forms "I LOVE RAIDING OMG!" like the haters would scream that they hate it.  so that fact of the matter is...many people enjoy raiding (while many do not as well) so to say that no one would raid is completly farce.

All systems are supposed to compliment each other.   Crafting, Tsys, Qsys and Raiding gear will all be great items.   Some of the best gear will come from all area's.   Also 24 people is not needed for the raids.   24 is the max you can bring.   A group of 16 players that know their classes should be able to handle the raid content just like in DDO you do not need 2 full groups to beat those raids.
