The population in game is only growing.

A handful of vocal whiners is not a trend.

In Internet terminology, a troll is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, often in the form of posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others. Trolls can also be existing members of such a community that rarely post and often contribute no useful information to the thread, but instead make argumentative posts in an attempt to discredit another person, more often than not based on what they thought was said rather than what was actually said by the other person, concentrating almost exclusively on facts irrelevant to the point of the conversation, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others. The latter are primarily, though not always juveniles from other countries who don't have enough understanding of the language to realize that there is nothing to argue about, the points are truly irrelevant to the conversation, or they just don't care and are simply trying to cause the other poster grief with their frivolous and irrelevant arguments.

The game without the hype happened. People buy because they believe in hype from crazed fans. Now they are deciding if they want to pay or not based on real, unpolluted selfexperienced opinion about quality.  Expect a lot more of that...

i remember when wow first came out, none of us were trolling the mmorpg forums.  we were playing the game.

the amount of people defending vanguard is staggering.

the only people bored enough of the game to come and chat up the forums should be people with complaints.

being that fans of vanguard are here chatting, the game obvously must suck.  it's been out less than a month and you are already so bored you'd rather troll forums than play it

    seriously, check my logic.

if the game was moderately good, you wouldnt be here singing praises, you'd be playing it.

The game was released (a) before it was ready and (b) with false pretenses in the early level that mask how HUGE of a grind the game actually is.

Oh ya ... and many, many deaths due to bugs in a game where death can be very punishing at times = doesn't make people LOVE the experience.

    ------
Played - UO, FFXI, WAR, WoW, EVE
    Currently - Bored.

I cancelled after a week.  Will check back in a month or two and see if some of the problems have been tweaked and they polish character creation, floating user names ETC a bit.  I mean for a supposed next generation game , 4 hairstyles , limited avatar customization is a step back to first gen.

I'm at work on my work computer and post on my coffee breaks and a bit at lunch. I'm sure lots of us who have to work for a living come here on breaks to have a laugh or two.

And Vanguard, even in it's released too early state is far more than moderately good. It rocks.

@O.P.- Some people are having performance issues and become very frustrated which I can understand. Lots of people have a vendetta against SOE because they flushed their dogs head down the toilet so they just troll. If you read carefully, check a persons post history and look at the words people use you can tell if someone is being honest or not. It's really not that hard. Look at Harafnir's post history. Nothing but immature comments and schoolyard "go back to WoW" type haranguing.

I don't understand why people refuse to give out their accounts if they hated the game so much.

The first thing I did after I decided I'd quit Guild Wars was to give out my account to someone.

And as I said several times, Vanguard costs 125$ here where I live, and nobody sane would pay that for a game.

    Final Fantasy XI 04~06

By this reasoning then WoW is the biggest p.o.s game ever made because the forums are so incredibly active that it's next to impossible to get a thread to remain on the front page for more then a few minutes.

The only thing you seem to post is BS, why do you bother?

On topic:  There is no mass exocus; everything is fine here.  Reminds me of the aliens in Dreamcatcher.  Here's my question, why do you see a few people posting that they cancelled and think that there is a problem.  You do realize that an INCREDIBLY small part of the population playing VG accually post here right?
