Just got my invitation of SG edition, waiting for client. Anyone wanna talk about it?

    Downloading right now, taking a very long time though so i guess i wont be able to try it out till tomorrow evening. Just reviewing the main site now.  Planning on a team of Fighter, Scout and Wizard.

    There are a difference between closed beta and live ... get rdy for the horrible translation :)

    Aye, i got my invite to the beta last friday, can't wait to try it out... its taking forever to download though... :,/ been downloading since friday and ive only got the first 4 parts downloaded... stupid internets borked...

    I got my invite to the beta as well. Wish they'd have an easier way to download it though, it's seriously taking forever and needing to download a bunch of little parts is pretty annoying. Hopefully they change that at some point..

    Just so people know this is the sg Granado Espada that is currently doing closed beta right now.

    Sword of the new World is the North American one and that one isn't the one in beta.

    Yup this one is for the ORIGNAL GE (the INT version), not SotNW:GE...

    I've looked at this (sadly havn't actally played yet) translation is VERY good, ping is great, not liking the fact that it's click to move but meh... details..

    Also as far as I know Sword of the New World will not be F2P unlike GE which is Item Shop based, sorry but if the ping plus translation IS this good I'm sticking with this one

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!

    Yeah the Ping is very nice, i guess i will stay on this Version becouse i dont wanna pay for the US/EU Version

    The game rocks but I hate it... I mean it's polished, the fonts aren't tiny, music is nice, graphics are beautiful yet it's smooth on a 4 years old computer.

    What I don't like is the fact you control 3 chars (why didn't they keep that for single player RPG ?) and that there's no look customisation at all. You see clone everywhere in town (which kills the character immersion, Role Play 'n stuff...) and with each player leading a 3 characters team I can tell you it's crowded. Nobody will feel the need to team up since they already got 3 chars.

    Too bad such a polished MMO had to go this path...



    PS. There is no NDA for the SG version so don't ban me this time, please.

    Played a little bit of it and I don't think this is the game I want to beta test right now.. So I'd be up for trading beta accounts for another game depending on what you have. It's nice looking and interesting concept but not really for me. I do a better beta testing job when I enjoy the game more. So just PM me about it.

    Exactly what I thought about this game too. Everything about this game is good, music, graphics, and etc but I also don't like that fact that you control 3 characters and there's only one face for each character class.

    Do you guys hate the three character aspect because it is badly done, or you just don't like the idea of it? Because I absolutely adore the idea of multiple character control. But I could see how it could easily be clunky and unwieldy if not done right.

    Can't say it's badly done, didn't play long enough (it probably isn't anyway), but I rather my multiple chars control in a single player RPG (Final Fantasy, <3 Cactuar btw), not a online action RPG where I rather focus my all in a single avatar (that I can customize). But as I said, the game is top quality though (unlike 90% Korean MMOs), that's why I hate the fact that I hate the game.

    The game is well programmed, the controls work very well and even the pathing is very good. 

    The problem, for me, is that the game feels much more like playing a multiplayer RTS game than a RPG.  Also, as others have said, seeing an exact clone of your party jog by you every 5 seconds takes away the fun for me too.  In crowded dungeon/outdoor areas it can get hard to tell if that is your scout standing around doing nothing or the next party over's.

    I'll keep testing it though, but so far a half hour at a time is all I can take.  I'm a little bummed I don't like it more,  you can tell a lot of love went into it.

    Yeah... Lack of initial customization is a real shame. Everyone just looks the same.

    Well you cant expect to have everything in a game, some parts ought to be left out no matter what, unfortunately.

    The closed beta that is being discussed in thread is not "Sword of the new world" but GE licensed by another company. It might not reflect SotNW at all because it might be much more/less grind/quests/lag/support and so on when Sword of the New World is finally released..
