If they wan't pain I got means of donating them pain, cutting yourself is not painful.
I once tried to break my arm with a hammer, the hammer was farely small, like one of those you use to build shelfs and shiet but I'm pretty sure my bones got fractured and it hurt like hell but I failed breaking my arm because I gave up when the pain got too intense.
Wanted to get som painkillers because I wanted to do drugs but in order to do so you need to be injured.

All folk music has emotion in it. For example, Simon and Garfunkel, their lyrics were emotional, but they put under the genre of emo.

Hmm. I think you have your words mixed up. I think your looking for the word "scenesters". Emo is a type of music(it stands for emotive hardcore or emotional hardcore). Just thought i'd point out the fact that you should do some research before you throw around words like "emo".

Emo kids...where to begin?
Anyone who wears pants designed for the opposite sex is an attention whore who needs to get a life. While cutting is a genuine problem, it's also an incredibly stupid way for someone to try and forget their problems. I have family members that are former cutters, they will tell you the same thing. As for the hair, I don't give a crap how people want to wear their hair, hair is hair...as long as its not in some outlandish looking mohawk then I don't really care if someonew ants to grow out their hair and then not do anything to it. Would I do it? No, but that's just because I like how I look with short hair, to each his own. As for their music: whatever floats your boat, personally I think emo/screamo stuff sucks, but not everybody has the same taste in music, so whatever. On to the "life is pain" stuff...okay, this is where I start to get mad, most of these emo kids are really pushing it with their whole "sit in the dark writing poetry about pain" thing. Everyone goes through difficult times, we don't start wearing black and cutting ourselves because of it though. I'm not saying that everyone needs to cope with their problems in the same ways, but for God's sake, don't cope with your problems in a way that garners so much attention, and then complain when people start to talk badly about you.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
Self-injury is a rather strange and destructive way of coping, but it works. And "emos" aren't the only ones that happen to do it... anyone who says otherwise is obviously very thick-headed.
Self-injury has been proven to trigger the release of endorphins, which happen to kill pain, and make you feel happier. Its not exactly a stupid way of coping, more like taking a step back, I suppose.

What annoys me is that they give "asking for attention over problems" a bad name. I mean a lot of people have the urge to get some feedback on their problems as others might provide them with new insights or help them deal with the issues. Personally I think other people can only make things worse, but we're not all the same, are we? In short, having emotions already had a bad name, now it's only worse. (btw, emotions have a biological purpose, so it's not wuss to have them)
And again... emo's seem to urge the world to make "emo topics".
