i really dont see anything in the game the catches my eye besides the great RVR by mythic all i around the graphs needs work races could be more thought ive seen the combat and its like any other but i havent seen craft if there is and the also the graphs make WOW look like ps3

For a lot of use it is more about the lore then the new stuff, but there are some good new ideas in it also. The ability to sack the oppnets city is something a lot of people from DAOC wanted and will be able to do. AS to the look it is still early alpha so no graphic are not what they will look like finally I am sure. They are more worried about game play right now.

Yeah I think they got the idea that a lot of WoW fans are starved of PvP, so this game IS PvP, full on, if you want it taht way. Capital city casking and looting? New and sounds like fun. I agree I'm not a fan of the graphics, but we'll see what happens in the future

Well that's very SAD for your part then. What do I see?

1) Iconic class system (24!!!! Of them, not many games has that)

2) Kick-ass RvR that doesn't end in any way.

3) A universe I could live in myself.

4) PvP focused gameplay

5) Great combat system.

That's about what I can see. And the graphics looks stunnishing IMO. You cannot possibly compare to "double-V - O - double-V" because that one looks like pure disney club and warhammer looks more serious and not so cute. I really doubt there will be anything that's truly cute in this game that makes you wanna stick your fingers down your throat.

Where exaclty you saw this great combat system , cause from the videos you only see uninteraptable button mashing.

Great rvr contend ? Where did you see that , so far videos have instances.

where are the pvp abilities they havent mention anything.

Colition detection will blow remember that , thats the reason wow never implement it.

And the no 1 reason not to play war is EA .

Btw from a game that copy pastes wow graphics dont expect too much.

First off: The reason WoW doesn't implement systems isn't because it "will blow". Probably because they don't like to take chances and make up their own stuff.

Also, how do you know the system will blow? Do you have some insider info that you would like to share with us?

Oh noes! Not EA... They actually publish many games I play and love. I love the Battlefield series... And I belive I will love WAR.

This stupid graphics argument has been done to death. Why can't WoW fanbois accept that WAR didn't rip off WoW, if anything WOW ripped off the Warhammer universe... (Which it did)

Probably like we shouldn't expect too much from your posts.

WAR is RvR not dumbed down WoW PvP. Yes I still play WoW but Mythics record wiith PvP is way better than Blizzards, where you get the idea that WAR is cut and paste WoW baffles me, you do realize Warhammer has around a lot longer than WoW (In fact the very first Warcraft was intended to be a Warhammer FPS), just check the GW websites to see where the graphics come from.

EA is a worry to me, but unlike a bigot like you I will be giving them a chance, Hopefully they will deliver a game the brings back the feeling of playing DAOC for the first time evoked.

Btw. the game is still nearly a year away from release (I honestly don't expect it to ship until early 2008, even though Mythic are aiming for Winter 2007). As far as i'm aware there are closed beta's/open betas yet to open so anything you claim to have seen is early at best.

Collision detection will be the best thing ever it will stop kiddies like you exploiting game mechanics and actually bring a degree of skill to the game.

Finally go back to watever game you feel is threatened by WAR and AOC and COS and stop cluttering up the boards with pointless jibes at a game that is not in retail yet. Play it when it launches and come back and whine then.

Guys, in case you haven't noticed, malakies isn't a serious poster. He's a troll. He belongs in the same category as Coma, except malakies is less of a WoW-cheerleader. Just ignore him.

I will address one thing from malakies. He keeps mentioning "button mashing" in his posts. I'm assuming he's talking about hotkey combat system, like in WoW, GW, EQ, EQ2, DaoC, AO, AC, Vanguard, LotRO, 20+ Korean MMOs... actually, just about every single MMO out there. Which begs the question: Why, malakies, are you even bothering to watch MMOs in development, if you dislike one of the fundamental gameplay mechanics of the genre? A few break from the standard, but they are the exceptions.

As for me, I like picking my actions from a hotkey list. You want "button mashing?" Try any game that requires to you actively swing your sword every time, or personally bring up your shield with the hit of a key. That's button mashing.

Wtf. Funny to read people's comments who havent done ANY research at all before they start bashing. You know about battlefronts? Taking over cities? Object based PvP matches and scenario based PvP fights?

Your main issue seems to be the instancing. Yes, there will be instanced battles, but what is wrong with that? The most POPULAR and BEST games out today has instancing. What is your comment upon that?

That was even more stupid than the above. As a matter of fact, it was beyond stupid. It was insulting, careless and unthoughtful.

This game looks 10 times better than WoW. There are 100 times more details and the graphics are more dark and serious. Not so cartoony.

Second i DO play daoc till now and while before ea took over daoc had in classic servers 4k population now after few months its hardly has 1800 max.

thats due to underbalance and new lame expansions and underdog realm and classes and so on EA implemented when took over.

RvR from level one is reason enough. There's persistance in zones, Public Quests, and just the general feeling that you're surounded by this dark gritty war, all because of RvR. You need to stop being a graphic whore too. These are pretty damn good and my computer can't run shit like Vanguard and AoC. If you think the Races need to be more thought out than you obviously don't know squat about Warhammer. Who cares about crafting, this is RvR? Look, just check out the video blogs, they're all you need to know.

And Malakies, spells probably aren't interupted yet because it's beta. Also, you should really look at more than one video. They had a few open RvR vids last year, and there's a few on public quests. There's only been like 2(out of at least 6) vids on Instancing. What the hell are 'PvP Abilities'? And yes, CD will blow because anything WoW didn't do is crap. WoW didn't screw up it's PvP with instancing btw, WoW screwed up it's PvP by not having real PvP. 3 instances=crap. 40=awsome. There's CC in the game, just not CC classes. There' probably going to be interupts once the game getts it's polish. There's definitely strafing, it's in the videos. And what the hell are 'reactionary styles' and 'assists'?

I played DAoC. All 3 realms. My account goes back to the days of Beta when Mythic allowed you to convert your Beta account to a retail account and get a discount on the monthly payment. I was there in Albion fighting against Stunguard. I was at the first Keep battle in Palomides when Midgard took Sursbrook and we lagged like you wouldn't believe. Can't remember how many times I'd dropped during that fight and kept coming back. I played a Runemaster in Midgard and was part of many relic raids. It was a blast. Played in Hibernia more recently, leveled up a Vampiir and did some RvRing in the New Frontiers. I've done Master Level Raids. I've had multiple artifacts on all my characters. I've done the instanced Catacomb dungeons. I have the Champion weapons from the quest chain released with Darkness Rising. I own a couple horses. I've owned my own houses I used for my LGM Alchemist. I've done the battlegrounds.

Is that enough proof that I've played and experienced DAoC enough to be valid for you? I am very much looking forward to WAR because it is attempting to fix a lot of what I felt were shortcomings in the greater scope of what RvR is about. The removal of CC and Buffbots is huge. I hope Mythic doesn't add Realm Abilities based on a Realm Point system. That's what RvR has primarily become about as of late for underpopulated realms. I like the idea of fighting for control of regions to eventually push into the enemies home capital. WoW failed with it's battlegrounds because they don't hold any meaningful purpose beyond just getting Honor points and Medals to get gear. There is no real sense of team or realm. By allowing your capital to be invaded, that feeling of togetherness and teamwork will have to be there. Otherwise you lose access to things you might want or need.

Its Mythic, read the homepage, they talk about it. Plus its something called, i don't know, closed Beta? Everheard of that? Its where there are a few options open for testing, you do know what testing is right? Go back to school and learn how to read and write.

BTW, from a Troll who copies and pastes "WoW is teh Shitzzors FTW!!1111!!1!!1!" isn't going to be viewed as a smart individual. I understand that WoW is your first game and you need to grind for gear or you'll start cutting yourself and listening to HIM and crying in corner. WoW is unoriginal. I've played it before it changed its name, its called Everquest. WoW took everything from everyone else and said "hey look, new" and people fell for it, but then it got lame and tiring. Most of my friends who flocked to it, told me to stay away from it, and i did.

So again, solely basing your experience with WoW on other games isn't going to get you anywhere, because Warhammer, has very deep history, and i mean like back in the 70s deep, and saying that they copy and pasted is wrong and dumb.

Thanks for enlightening me malakies, you really made me see things for how they truly are.

Oh wait, no, you didn't, because you know just as much as everyone else knows, which aint much, and everything else you're spouting is pure opinion and not fact.

Actually, scratch that, you seem to know even less as some of your 'facts' are wrong (or are again, just pure opinion). There will be positional styles, there will be reactionary styles, there will be instancing, but Battlefields (open world RvR) will be just as, or more as important (read the conference calls that were released today). Also believe there will be forms of CC, just nowhere near the scale that DAoC had. Read up on some of the skill that http://www.war-rvr.net/ has in their gallery, you might learn a few things.

Remember, they can not, and will not show us everything at this point. No other MMO has in the past at this early of a stage, and no MMO ever will. You can choose to believe things aren't there if you want, just remember that there is the rest of the year left to develop the game. I'll believe you then, if they're not there.

I however will be keeping an open mind.

Bhazrak, I am just curious but I couldn't find any mention of CC on that site. I read that Mythic is doing away with Crowd Control with WAR. It was one of the largest flaws in DAoC and the plan is not to offer it at all. Stuns will be in, but those aren't crowd control. Nor are snares. Crowd Control is things like Root and Mez that last long durations and keep you out of combat for the duration, or essentially controlling a crowd of enemies allowing you to pick and choose who to face and when. I'm not saying you are wrong, it's just contradictory to what I've seen from Mythic and couldn't find it on the site you linked.

Mythic is also doing away with the long duration buffs which include the concentration buffs. This removes the absolute neccessity of a buffbot on a second account to be effective. Wise choice imo.

Well in that case, CC isn't in, I thought snares and stuns were a minor form of it, which is what i meant when it wasn't on the scale of DAoC's. If it's just Mez's and rootsand such, then I can see that being left out.

i'm just curious to how you've come to such conclusions other than perhaps randomly strolling and trolling? The game is still in internal beta which means no one outside of mythic, some press people, and friends of mythic employees have played. There's only so much to combat you know..take sword hack, slash and stab what else do you need?

What are you talking about I haven't seen craft? Do you mean crafting? They've not revealed any info on crafters yet other than yes there is crafting and no you can't be just a crafter. WOW look PS3?! ..ROFL omg...yea like a brand new system would want some low resolutioned, low poly mess on it thats really showing it work right?

Look kid come back and post something constructive after you've read all the articles, interviews, website reviews and not just seen some alpha stage videos that were recorded on someone's cam corder while at an event.

I never listen to people who can't be bothered to use a capital letter to start their sentences or periods to end them. If you can't be bothered to do something as simple as pressing the shift key on your keyboard then in my opinion you can't be trusted to come up with a honest and factual point of view.
