DarkFall first few weeks

NiaxNiax Member Posts: 84
I was just wondering when DarkFall comes out (key word when) what the first few weeks of darkfall gameplay would be like.  I was thinking chaotic free for all for the first few weeks till people get tired of kiling or looseing their items they worked so hard to get.

There is an alignment system. Even though you can be a murderer, it will be a hard life. The player community is dead set on policing itself and that those who freely kill others will be shuned and KOS.

Yep, its like real life    LOL

What would you think of some idiot walked around  and killed people in your neighbourhood??

These players will soon be history in neutral areas. This makes it very interesting, all "evil "people will gather outside "good" areas and build citys of their own.

And this makes real danger for all and we have a little war...

I really want the game now

This game is going to be mayhem..but thats just what makes it so appealing

I think the first few months are going to be pretty wild too. But there will be a fair number of people who quietly work their collective butts off working up crafting skills and trying to accumulate enough resources to claim a stone.

There will never be a shortage of people running amok along the outskirts of newbland ganking all who seem vulnerable.

The best part is:  There is millions of  ways DF can evolve. We have no idea how the first weeks or years will be. All bets are off.

And thats make DF the MMO that will change the whole consept of gameplay

I think it'll be a crazy ass war at first, just like asheron's call was (Exept ac is a smaller scale of course :-)..)  Even though theres an alignment system its not like you'd get banned, you'd just have a hell of a time trying to TK or PK, but it'll still be fun.

Basicaly the first weeks will be chaotic as everyone said. Friendships formation and swearing vengeance for ever,  will take place. That it will form the new powers later. Clans, Guilds, Alliances.

The good point is that new players will not have any problem to avoid battles or even kill any attackers is they use just some brain.

The best thing is also, i have seen about 300 DF clans..and there is much more.

All those clans must quickly get organised and starting to claim land, this alone will spawn hundreds of wars

Really good for the world economy.

Heroes and backstabbers will become famous. Old leaders will vanish and new ones rise.

i agree with daarco, darkfall is a lot like real life. for example, there are no real "safe zones" in real life, you can be killed anywhere. this is one the reasons darkfall will be be a great hit when ( or if ) it comes out.

Nice way of putting things, of couorse WHEN it comes out my first char will be an assasin or just the crazy guy that attacks people he cant kill.  I wonder if any guild member will bs for another guild.

I remember in the day when the same was said about Lineage 2.  Anyone greifing/ganking or interfering with questing would be banished and hounded as KoS. Now, as alliances have become power hungry meglamaniacs, you have entire clans/guilds made of assassins/PKer's.  They are treated as some kind of "anti-hero-hero", HA!, go figure!

Nope, "I'm NOT buyin' that for a dollah."  Will be a gank-fest from the beginning and the clan/guild that is organized enough to take control!

Thats the best thing with DF...you can kill all gankers

Everybody just talk about the "evil" players going to hunt the "nice" ones.    But in DF all players can put the feet down and kick ass.

And if there is 40 non-gankers in a city and two gankers arrive......LOL

If we are very lucky, it will be like first months of Shadowbane, but without the bugs/crashes.
  • daarcodaarco Member UncommonPosts: 4,276

Either way its gonna be:  one thing is true.....there will be so much conflict the first weeks, as many PvP fight in WoW during 2 years will happen in the first months in DF

Maybe even so much the most hardcore ganker thinks the amounts of blood spilled is enoughe

    Or something...

Probably a lot of people experimenting with manually-aimed combat, mounts and stuff. Some chaotic FFA,of course.

After this stage, which will (probably) pass quickly, the more organised structure of the game begins. Clan building, capturing territory, etc. Questing, crafting, whatever you want to do.

But it'll be fun for all, that's guaranteed.

I hope it is like Shadowbane in spirit, but if it's truly like Shadowbane, the problem of world monopolization comes into play after a year or so.

And that's not fun for anyone.

Saying that, though, I loved Shadowbane and hope this turns out even better!

I wonder how the big "mega" clans from other MMO will do in DF?

Sure they have a advantage, they know eachother, how they fight and so on. But the complex game world in DF will maybe get to much for some members. Personal interest that never have been shown in other MMO can create conflict in those big clans.

One clan leader cant keep 100 members happy, not with the total freedom they all have.

So, will this lead to backstabbing and many internal conflicts? I believe so. Its just a matter of time before humans begin to complain. And in DF you can kill your clan leader......

    .

It's not going to change any concepts.  Hopefully it will help many of us relive the old UO days, with updated graphics and gameplay here and there.

If it is successful then maybe other developers will realize that many MMORPGers like this style of gameplay

I will say this about sums it up nicely!

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.
