given vanguards obvious problems with many people reporting that they feel the game has been released when its nowhere near finnished . should it they do what archlord did and make it free to play ?????? (even in the short term until the games issues are more resolved than at present) . could such an action save vanguard by keeping people playing ??? opinions???

What would benefit Vanguard players, is a free month or two. A sort of "thank you and sorry for releasing too soon" gesture. But i doubt they will do anything like that at this stage. The only reason i can think of to release vanguard prematurely is money problems, and how can they earn money if they dont sell the game?
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Compared to WoW and EQ2, Vanguard does not have hardly any bugs upon release. Compared to CoH and CoV, It was a bit rushed.
Overall, all MMORPG are released to early, but funding is always a serious issue. I am surprized that is not more obvious to people. The investers start wanting a return for their dollar. MMORPG's are far more expensive to produce than single player games.
Currently, most of my friends who play Vanguard (30+ people) are not having serious graphics problems with any card 7000 series or better. In some cases they had to tweak the graphics to improve frame rates. The graphics where not necessarily ment to be maxed out yet, even on the best cards. I believe they are thinking to the future on hardware. But that hardly matters, the graphics of Vanguard are way better on their lowest setting than most of the other MMORPG's, unless you prefer cartoons of course. The water under balanced settings is not too impressive, but Balanced or above it is awesome.
Most of the "Lag" people are complaining about is actually "zoning". The game is a hybrid streaming/zoning game. But unlike EQ2, the zones are small little doors from one "room" to another. "zoning" can be annoying, but on most people's machines it does not take but a couple seconds.
The only serious bug my friends and I have been getting, are the grouping ang guild bugs, but those can be worked around.
Vanguard is the best game since EQ imo...the odd bug at launch is expected.
So true.....
Most Free MMOs work.............

Most Free MMOs work.............
LMAO..ouch
But that isn't to say that some 'free MMOs' like Guild Wars don't edge out Vanguard in quite a few categories.
MMOs tend to lessen their costs and entrance barriers over time. And those changes pretty much tick down the life of an MMO. The retail boxes get less expensive, expansions retail digital only and comes out in multitudes, free trials start popping up in limited quantities, then they're everywhere, "please come back and play" e-mails are sent out with free subscription times...so on and so on.
So starting off with 'free' even for a limited amount of time would probably sink Vanguard. So too would offering free trial time so soon. What they could do though as add up all the days systematic errors have made the game too buggy for a majority to play, (like the recent item disappearance bugs), and add on free days to folks accounts.
WoW did this a lot its first few months, and while it probably did very little for it's subscription retention and longevity in success, it certainly didn't harm it.
at least until all the nasty bugs are gone...
I don't need to go into detail... it's been flamed 24x7 since pre-release
I really hope it lasts for 6 months so they can fix the problems many were experiencing toward the end of beta.
This game had great potential - but I am not gonna spend money on it month after month hoping for better and be SWG'd again.
