    I hope I'm wrong.
wow, i hope your right, so tired of pve based mmo's whats the point realy, play a game whit thousands of players, and you want more

AI? more computer controlled mobs? i wish there was less, in every game, if you want mobs and little cute quests why not play a single player rpg? i just dont get this image of the questing mmo, real people, real fights, real action.

both these games look like something some of us been whaiting for for a while. i think the pvp whil be a bigger focus in war, but the look

of aoc is way more intersting, althow we have to remember, so far, games that look to good wer never good, funfactor before graphics.

i will try both, hopefully they wont come out the same month:)

One thing is for sure, mythic making an rvr game, if your old school daoc, i know your gona at least try it. I gotta agree. I play mmos for the hopes of PvPing. Even if you do like to quest and whatnot, what happens when you've done every quest, raided every boss, gained the most powerfull weapons and armor etc.? To me there isn't much left after that to keep me interested in a game except for PvP (not that I care to do quests or anything. I wanna PvP ASAP). Also, is it right to play AoC off like its any less of a PvP game then WAR just because it has quests etc.? I mean, its cool to like quests and all but I think its going to be just as much as a PvP oriented game.

I can't really say that I'm a huge fan of WARs look, because I'm getting tired of the whole orcs/elves/dwarves genre and the cartoony look factor, but I'll still try it, and who knows, it could be fun.

It's going to be hard to choose. It's going to come down to gameplay for me.

My biggest concern with WAR is that it looks like it's going to be awfully short, especially if the races are restricted to their own set of zones. It might last a little longer if you can take your Dwarf to the Empire's zones, and so on... but I haven't seen anything about that as of yet. I don't have a problem with cartoony graphics (I like the look of Warhammer anyway) nor do I have a problem with a high fantasy setting.

That being said, I am a big fan of Robert E. Howard's original works and have very high hopes for the Age of Conan game.

Which one I pay for is going to depend on which one plays better.

I can't direct you to an article, but I am pretty positive I read some where you can travel around zones to help your allies.  Say as an orc you want to go help out your chaos buddies, you can do that.

As for AoC; as I've said in another thread, what's holding me back is the hardware requirements.  I'm not one to drop money to upgrade my system just so I can play a game, so Conan sadly is out of my list (unless it can run on my computer set at the lowest settings, then maybe I'll give it a shot).  So, I'm really looking forward to WAR and hope both games turn out great.  Hopefully neither will pull a community similar to WoW, which is my biggest worry.

As a current DAOC player, I of course favor WAR and its RvR style of Pvp.

But...I've heard great things about AOC, revolutionary game play and all that...

Since odds are the two games will launch quite a bit apart from each other, so I'll have a chance to try one (probably AOC) and see how it holds my interest. If it doesn't, then WAR will be my next roll of the dice...

Just would like to point out, WAR will have mounted combat, and the graphics arent cartoony, I played the Alpha and they were DAoC catacombs graphics basically and I was told the graphics would be updated a bit before release. Also EA isnt mythic, and anyone who has played daoc and knows mythic knows mythic will make a great game for hardcore pvp and even pve lovers!

Ok if the graphics ARENT cartoony, well then there WARHAMER'ish and WARHAMMER is Cartoony. Not that its a bad thing...to me at least I dont care.

This is the best vid Ive seen to date for anyone interested

I saw this same thread in the warhammer forum...and I can say that Conan forums are FOR AOC just as much as the WAR forums were in favor of WAR.

Im interested in both games almost equally. I will be trying both games because they both look to be solid mmo's. I have to admit, I hope one is CLEARLY better than the other because that would just suck being torn between two great games.

Gimme a break and go  post in WAr funboys section.

Im an active Daoc player for 4 years and i know how its was before EA took over and lost at least 50% of population in few months.

War wont even be good  terms of graphics ( lame copy paste wow ) , no assist , button mashing combat ( check the vids) ,  no cc , not much heals ( zerg wins  by default) and so on.

For you ignorance rvr abilities  game is when u pvp nd you gain abiltiies form pvp instead of lame corpse loot or gear. So you character keeps on progresing and geting stronger.

Its a skill orinted pvp than geared

Aoc so far has said bout pvp skills and blood money , the combat looks great , the classes looks a lot of fun , graphics and all. What War has  in order to compeat , other than a  developer who makes funny videos but hes clueless from rvr.

Give you a break? Ok I wont bust your chops because you dont know how to phrase sentences in a structure that makes sense to those of us who speak english.

But how about you back up your post with some facts, with some details and stop talking out of your ass.

And lets get something straight, we are talking about AOC and WAR not DAOC. Im a big daoc fan also but DAOC has nothing to do with this conversation. And FYI, DAOC has been steadily losing players for quite some time and not because of EA.

Oh I just noticed that you actually compared WoW's Graphics to WAR. You are a complete nub. You said that the combat was button mashing... /sigh. Have you played the game? And you know this how? From watching a video?

Just stop while your ahead. Your making your AOC community look bad.

War is aimed at the PvP/RvR audience so in a sense you are not wrong, however you will be able to level through pure PvP or pure PvE or combinations thereof. Don't expect to avoid PvP though where WoW is a PvE centric game that had PvP bolted on as an afterthough, WAR is designed as an RvR game from the outset.

There will be faction imbalances as there were in DAOC, TBH I always stuck with Midgard though which with the exception of two servers was the underdog realm, there is something fulfilling about acheiving RvR objectives whilst being the underdog so that doesn't scare me.

However in answer to the OP's post I will be trying both games (and COS too), Aoc if it releases on schedule should give a minimum of 3 - 6months gameplay before WAR is released  so we'll all have a chance to try out AoC.

I'm waiting on Warhammer myself.  If that flops then I'm going to try Conan.  If Conan flops I'm done with MMOs for a while I think.  Cause I haven't had a decent game since UO pre trammel.

Actually they both look like good games. I for one am gonna give both a try. Then will decide which i like best.

Warhammer just doesn't appeal to me for some reason.  I'm definitely going to be playing AoC.

Yeah lol that was a pretty pathetic post :P

In a more civilized way: I won't be playing WAR and one of the bigger reasons is the unrealistic graphics, but it does sound like a great game

Also the races, I'm done with elves and orcs etc at least for a little bit :)

The funny thing about being all anal about grammar is that you have to check your own all the time now in order to save the small amount of credit you have left in your posts. You spelt arent wrong as you forgot the ' so I suggest you "L2English" yourself before you try and be a teacher to everyone. GG.
