Now that this game has been delayed, I am confident that we will be getting a game that has the kind of polish, innovation, and technilogical advancement that would warrant our deepest devotion. I am getting so excited about the release of AoC and it is probably more than one year away for me. I am anticipating the 360 release, but I realize the most important goals for the development team will be a successful PC launch, and then .... a 360 release that rocks!
I am most excited about the combat system, specifically formations! It just sounds like it will be really strategic; and would help gameplay to be addictive. I also like the importance of teamwork and community. I am pretty excited about the different classes even though they have narrowed our choices. I do believe the narrowed choices will benefit the game drastically, and I also trust that the development team knows what's best for this game, and has far superior knowledge then some noob fanboy, such as, myself!
The problem I have with other people's posts is that they don't give the game developers enough credit. I mean these guys have the vision for the game, they obviously have the talent and desire to make this game ROCK! It's good to have opinions, but faith in the development team allows an attitude where we want them to succeed. It's also hard to find out if people are legitimately concerned about issues in the game, or if they are just people who are trying to diswade you so that you will go buy Vanguard, WarHammer, etc. I am in a unique position, in that, I can't be diswaded to play Vanguard, WarHammer, or WOW because I am an Xbox 360 gamer, and AoC is the only cool and innovative MMORPG coming to the 360. In every other game genre I am so incredibly happy with the 360 games, but MMO's are slim pickens.
Anyways, please post why you think AoC will rock!

I agree.
I've seen too many games that I was originally excited about end up being big disappointments due to being rushed to release. I sincerely hope that will not happen to AoC, and the fact that they are delaying it and taking their time certainly gives me hope.
When a game is delayed, it doesn't usually fill me with much hope. It just means they hit one or more major issues. Whether or not they address those issues before some bean counter finally says "RELEASE IT NOW!" becomes the question.
In other words, a delayed game doesn't necessarily mean a polished game upon release.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Looks very solid, when i rea the name of the game i thought it was going to be some poor ripoff game but this looks very well planned out. Seems like it will attract alot of new people especially since its xbox and PC.
This really is the truth of it.
I keep seeing people get all excited about a particular game only to then flame it after it comes out.
"Dark and Light" and Vanguard come to mind.
So, people just need to be a bit patient until there are actual reports of gameplay. And not beta gameplay. I'm pretty tired of people going into closed betas and using it as a measurment of what the game is going to be like during release.

Good to see a game get delayed so they can fix it.
Too many games get released as Beta versions nowdays, broken and stuttering *cough* Vanguard *cough*

Okay, I'm really interested in this. This coming holiday I will get a new rig, so what is "newegg"??? Is that a specific desktip computer I should buy or a website where I can buy a desktop computer? (after I post this I will google newegg, but still reply for people reading the post that don't know either) The processor, memory, and graphics chip all sound like a deal for $1200, and I'm sure by Christmas I could get it with a 19inch LCD thrown in. (you think???)

Yea don't forget another 200 to 400 dollars for Windows Vista if you want direct x 10 which is the only way you get those kick ass screen shots theyve been hyping up. I think thats a crock if i want it to look good i need a brand new not even serviced packed windows OS. But...whatever i digress ... long as the game is good who cares if i might need to run it on direct x 9.
Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!

you know... there is an old saying... something about it is better to not say anything and be thought an idiot rather than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Once upon a time being a pc gamer actually meant something. You used to have to have a certain skill set and intelligence to play a pc game. Those days are long gone and the power of consoles is rapidly approaching that of the pc. While pc's in and of themselves are becoming dumber to appeal to a larger audience.

I guess... but why would anyone want a computer that only played games when they could have a real, full computer that did it all? (with 10x better hardware at that)

Rapidly approaching? I'd say they're already here. If I want to buy AoC and play it, I can either pay $350 for a 360 or I can fork out over $1000 for a new computer that will be somewhere between the minimum and maximum requirements. And if I want to hit the maximum requirements and play it on Vista we're talking over $1500 and that's for the same performance I would get playing the game on a 360.
I think the days of the PC are numbered. It wouldn't surprise me if within 20 years, consoles start taking the place of PCs as both gaming machines and internet browsers.
The only thing PCs will be left around for is business work.
