You just know AoC is going to ROCK now!

Now that this game has been delayed, I am confident that we will be getting a game that has the kind of polish, innovation, and technilogical advancement that would warrant our deepest devotion.  I am getting so excited about the release of AoC and it is probably more than one year away for me.  I am anticipating the 360 release, but I realize the most important goals for the development team will be a successful PC launch, and then .... a 360 release that rocks!

I am most excited about the combat system, specifically formations!  It just sounds like it will be really strategic; and would help gameplay to be addictive.  I also like the importance of teamwork and community.  I am pretty excited about the different classes even though they have narrowed our choices.  I do believe the narrowed choices will benefit the game drastically, and I also trust that the development team knows what's best for this game, and has far superior knowledge then some noob fanboy, such as, myself!

The problem I have with other people's posts is that they don't give the game developers enough credit.  I mean these guys have the vision for the game, they obviously have the talent and desire to make this game ROCK!  It's good to have opinions, but faith in the development team allows an attitude where we want them to succeed.  It's also hard to find out if people are legitimately concerned about issues in the game, or if they are just people who are trying to diswade you so that you will go buy Vanguard, WarHammer, etc.  I am in a unique position, in that, I can't be diswaded to play Vanguard, WarHammer, or WOW because I am an Xbox 360 gamer, and AoC is the only cool and innovative MMORPG coming to the 360.  In every other game genre I am so incredibly happy with the 360 games, but MMO's are slim pickens.

Anyways, please post why you think AoC will rock!

Agreed. While I was ticked off that it was delayed, it will give me more time to save up some money to upgrade my rig. Polished game > Unfinished game!!!!

I agree, this game is gonna rock. The theme and environment alone puts it on top for me, the rest is just icing on the cake. Long time REH fan here, been waiting years for this very game.

Yeah, about upgrading your rig ... I am currently waiting for the 360 version of Conan, but I MIGHT try to save up some money by next Christmas so I can buy a brand new desktop.  Question 1:  What will I want to buy, come holiday 07, including brand names, processer speeds, amount of Ram, HD, etc.  Question 2: How much will it cost.  (please know that if I were to buy a new rig, I would want a guarantee that it could run Direct X10, and run AoC flawlessly)

    I agree.

I've seen too many games that I was originally excited about end up being big disappointments due to being rushed to release.  I sincerely hope that will not happen to AoC, and the fact that they are delaying it and taking their time certainly gives me hope.

True, but a game is never considered rushed to release until it releases and turns out to be awful.

When a game is delayed, it doesn't usually fill me with much hope. It just means they hit one or more major issues. Whether or not they address those issues before some bean counter finally says "RELEASE IT NOW!" becomes the question.

In other words, a delayed game doesn't necessarily mean a polished game upon release.

Werd. I'd rather wait for a finished product then play a buggy mess. I'm already pretty damn excited about this game (and WAR) :D

Looks very solid, when i rea the name of the game i thought it was going to be some poor ripoff game but this looks very well planned out. Seems like it will attract alot of new people especially since its xbox and PC.

This really is the truth of it.

I keep seeing people get all excited about a particular game only to then flame it after it comes out.

"Dark and Light" and Vanguard come to mind.

So, people just need to be a bit patient until there are actual reports of gameplay. And not beta gameplay. I'm pretty tired of people going into closed betas and using it as a measurment of what the game is going to be like during release.

For the upgrades, I usually go to my computer wiz friend for help. Although I might just build a whole new computer, it'll be something along the line of 2 gigs of ram, Intel Duo core 1.73 gigs and er wish I knew more . Hopefully someone else would be able to answer your questions.

Consoles are for kids, upgrade your rig man. Toss $1200 at newegg and you can walk away with a fancy lookin full size tower with a nice intel d975 board, a dual core 2 e6700 (2.66ghz), a nice nvidia 8800 gtx and a couple gigs of 800mhz ddr2 memory. Their wont be a game in the world you cant rock at max settings. And if you got the cash, top it off with a 19 inch flatscreen widescreen monitor. (about $150) You aient seen gfx till you have seen them on a flatscreen. :P

Okay, I'm really interested in this.  This coming holiday I will get a new rig, so what is "newegg"???  Is that a specific desktip computer I should buy or a website where I can buy a desktop computer?  (after I post this I will google newegg, but still reply for people reading the post that don't know either)  The processor, memory, and graphics chip all sound like a deal for $1200, and I'm sure by Christmas I could get it with a 19inch LCD thrown in.  (you think???)

Yea don't forget another 200 to 400 dollars for Windows Vista if you want direct x 10 which is the only way you get those kick ass screen shots theyve been hyping up.   I think thats a crock if i want it to look good i need a brand new not even serviced packed windows OS.   But...whatever i digress ... long as the game is good who cares if i might need to run it on direct x 9.

If you want to play games, get off that retarded 360 and buy a decent PC.  Consoles are for simplistic games, I can't imagine why anyone would want to put an MMO on a console, I certainly would not want to group with anyone playing on a console.  Do you realize that even a cheap PC is faster with better graphics than a console?

Consoles (xbox, playstation, mac*) do have a use. They are for multiplayer games to play when your friends come over. (racing, sports, fighting, ect.) but you dont need the latest generation (360, ps3) for that. A previous generation will do. (xbox, ps2)

*thats right, I slipped in a mac burn, lol. :P

    roflmao...

you know... there is an old saying... something about it is better to not say anything and be thought an idiot rather than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Once upon a time being a pc gamer actually meant something.  You used to have to have a certain skill set and intelligence to play a pc game.  Those days are long gone and the power of consoles is rapidly approaching that of the pc.  While pc's in and of themselves are becoming dumber to appeal to a larger audience.

I guess... but why would anyone want a computer that only played games when they could have a real, full computer that did it all? (with 10x better hardware at that)

Rapidly approaching?  I'd say they're already here.  If I want to buy AoC and play it, I can either pay $350 for a 360 or I can fork out over $1000 for a new computer that will be somewhere between the minimum and maximum requirements.  And if I want to hit the maximum requirements and play it on Vista we're talking over $1500 and that's for the same performance I would get playing the game on a 360.

I think the days of the PC are numbered.  It wouldn't surprise me if within 20 years, consoles start taking the place of PCs as both gaming machines and internet browsers.

I was just wondering ... what is "a cheap PC"  because that is the key to evaluating if your comments are true or B.S.
