Looks just like WoW. Great job i suppose of copying another game.
"Oh yeah, this game is from the company that effectively destroyed a great MMO named DAOC with the Trials of Atlantis (ToA) expansion that turned the game into a loot arms-race from hell.
I'm sure Mythic will do the same thing in Warhammer. After ToA, i'll never buy anything from these clowns ever again"-SBE1
"Mythic couldn't balance pong. I have no doubt that huge class imbalances will plague WAR (unfortunately). I hope I'm wrong.
It's good to see that they say the game isn't designed for folks to sit around for 8 hours trying to complete something. Perhaps the folks at Mythic finally learned something from the Trials of Atlantis expansion disaster"-SBE1
You seem to have some serious love loss issues with Mythic. Your obsession seems quite unhealthy, they have counselling for these type of things you know.
In game graphics dont look anywhere near as good as concept art : The DAOC engine is OLD............... SOE cuda made it with the Unreal 3 engine.
SOE? Well i guess if SOE was the developer.
With all these people who play these games not many understand why certain companys go certain routes with graphics. Hmmm a game that is going to be all PvP and the main focus of the game will be sacking the capital cities which will take 100's of players and maybe 1000+ in one area at a time?
Hmmm shall we go with ultra low poly like WoW to ensure there is as little lag as possible? Or shall we go with high poly to appease the moron crowd, have tons of lag so then that same moron crowd can flame us on the forums?
The same people who constantly flame thse games pre-release are usually the biggest fanbois afterwards.
You make an excellent point TheDrizzle, I hadn't considered that if they hyped the graphics too far their just shooting themselves in the foot over the main focus of the game PvP/RvR where they want large scale combat to be possible. Good thinking batman.

Yes gotta agree with that really hit the spot there. Funny how many people who only play games for graphics. Why not just download a very very nice screensaver instead and watch it all day long instead?

The game does NOT use the DAOK angeine. There is no such thing as a DAOK engine - DAOK is an end product constructed with an old version of the Gamebryo engine.
WAR is not using an old engine. WAR is using the latest edition of the Gamebryo engine - the same engine that was used in the construction of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. The quality of the graphics is not being limited in any way by the engine. The models look like the pewter figures, the textures look like the artists want them to look.

The majority of DAoC players that i used to game with are waiting for the release of this game; WoW players will jump on the band wagon soon enough. This game is looking so good, just can't wait. The most important question on my mind though is:
"What are the system specs gonna be?!!"
Be nice to know the specs of the comps at the RvR press conference. Hint-hint, nudge-nudge.

According to one of the stories released after January's press conference:
"The system we were playing on for the test was a Laptop system with an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz with 2Gb of Ram, Radeon x1600 Mobile gfx card and other standard goodies. The game was at almost max setting (no antialiasing) and was running perfectly fine with no performance issues at all."
Have to assume the final product will require something a bit more powerful for the same results.

By the time WAR comes out, everyone should be running a poweful DX10 card, they will go way down in price, especially with the spring/summer release of the geforce 8900/8950's.
A good rig is gonna be needed, cause even with the low poly rendering, try to render client side 1000 vs. 1000 battle or even more is gonna be nuts!

They've done an excellent job of staying true to the two plus decades of source material created by Games Workshop artists/

What i hate about this site is you can't post negative things, fanbois rule them : Gets very annoying but tbh i'm not going to reply to you.
I've said what i think and everyone doesn't have the same views so accept it and dont flame me.
