I have the game, and according to the box the system requirements for memory are 512 MB RAM minimum, 1 GB recommended. So, if RAM is your only concern you might be okay. Here are the rest of the specs just in case:
Recommended:
3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64 or equivalent processor
1 GB System RAM
ATI X1600 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, 256 MB, or more, video card
Minimum System Requirements: Windows XP 512MB System RAM
2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP 2000 or equivalent processor
Hard Disk Space: 5.5 GB free hard disk space (twice that for unpacking space)
128MB Direct3D, Dx9 (hardware-compatible) video card and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver;
Minimum: ATI Radeon 9700 Pro or NVidia Geforce 6600
If you haven`t bought it yet, Id wait if I were you. The game was released awfully incomplete and it probably won`t be complete for a couple of years. I haven`t checked the new patches but I doubt they fixed all the awful bugs

Uh...no. The game has always been completed, but it just has a few bugs and yes the 1.04 patch has fixed most of the bugs. If you have an old computer then I suggest you update it.

Also you have to bare in mind that the minimum specs printed are enough to run the game, not necasserily make it run well.

And because of people like you Lastera, Developers have been lowering the acceptable bar by leaps and bounds. For the last couple of years. No it's not our game that's the problem, it's your PC. Go dump 1000 or more dollars into updating it. That way we never have to fix anything in a timely manner or even release a game as bug free as possible.
Yes lets keep lowering the bar on what is considered acceptable performance. At least the console market is attempting to get their act together. Can't say the same for the PC market.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.

Here's an idea - how about we actually look at the two different markets which make up PCs and consoles and understand that they are infact TWO different markets. No it's not the fault of developers that PC components keep improving and the buyers of these components want to see their money well spent.
What would be the point of buying a 8800 graphics card if all games where still written for a 4200? So no, the poster is correct - if you have an old PC then dont expect the best performance from the latest game releases. And you know what? This has been the way for many, many years - ever since PC's and games were put together.
And here's another little thing - you notice that consoles are slowly becoming more and more like PC's?
First they just played games.
Then they were semi-media centres
Now they connect to the internet.
Now they are media centres.
Now they have hard drives.
Now they have downloadable content.
Now they have patches released.
Consoles are the way of the future - but don't expect them not to cash in on the PCs abilities as they progress. And yes the current PC way - release and then patch bugs - is slowly entering the Console market.
Not only is this unplayable at 512 megs of ram, but even at a gig and a 256 9800 card on my old desktop I still had stutters with the graphics toned down. To say that this game is complete would be accurate in the sense that yes, it does have a beginning and an end. It is worth mentioning however that there are many gamebreaking bugs and insane difficulty spikes; I would suggest buying the first one with the expansions over playing this. I would actually suggest doing a lot of things over playing this.
I just grabbed NWN2 for my new rig (intel celeron D 3.0 Ghz with 2 GB ram and geforce 7300 GT card) and it run alright, and the patch to download fixes the majority of issues with the 1.0 release. When I tried running it at 512 mb RM before purchasing my ram upgrade it was totally pointless; you need 1 GB ram to play, seriously.

on 512?
Probably not. It would be like a slide show I would think. You need a GB plus of RAM I would think if you want decent performance.

When I started playing that game I gave it a 9.5/10. Then, for every hour of play it dropped by .1 until the end where it was at 6/10
I played it right after it came out and it was plagued with bugs and the more the game advanced the more things started to feel unfinished
