Personally I loathe gaming systems like the PS2, XBox and others of that ilk. Basically because I figure why waste money on a console when you can use your computer and allow others to use the TV to... gasp... watch TV
I also feel that no game for the PS2 or XBox is going to compete well, in an online format, with a PC based game because PC's give much more versatility than XBox and PS2 (at least currently). For example, right now you can waste $99 to get FFXI for the PS2 or you can simply spend 30-40 dollars and play it on your PC.
Anyway, that's my opinion. Also EQOA sucks compared to what EQ2 is going to be.

A console + a new TV is a lot cheaper then a new computer every 2 years, and this is what you need to keep up in the interesting games!
Now, the consoles games are *usually* behind the computer games, especially, my PS2 lag a lot more then my computer or my Xbox would!
But for me, just make the nicest toy as cheap as possible and I would be happy!
*cast a resurrect true on SSI*
You know what, I still have my Sword of Aragon poster with my Champion of Krynn poster even if I lose a lot of family faction by putting them in the computer room, nobody would dare touch them (althought they are all damaged and in bad bad shape).
The Sword of Aragon poster have an icon which each city name...while the Champion of Krynn poster read: "The first fantasy role-playing epic set in the AD&D DRAGONLANCE game world!"
*start dreaming*
I wonder, anyone can tell me this?
What is at the following address now? (this was SSI address)
675 Almanor Avenue
Sunnyvale, CA 94086-2901
********************** I wont repeat an old phone number, if someone was re-assign it they must be freaking tired to be asked where SSI is.

Uhh a new Console + a new *good* TV runs around $800 total cost, depending on the size of the tv you buy it could go over $1000
Oddly enough a new PC nowadays runs between $600 and $1500 for a system that's capable of keeping up with the current times. If you go higher you can actually get about 2 years ahead of the curve.
Computer prices are coming down. Last time I checked TV prices were still about the same, and in some ways going up...

hehe, in 10 years...my TV and my consoles cost me less then 2k (CND money).
In the same time, I spend more then 6k(CND money again) on computers! (hey dont forget the monitors prices, they alone are more expensives then the TV and they break more often then TV)
I have no idea for future, we will see!
My first computer before that was a very good investment althought, my Amiga last me a good 5 years before I need to replace it, but the Amiga where a long long way in advance over PCs on the gaming side... To bad they have such a weak marketting strategy, otherwise they would have won the market easily with such a better product as it was...(if you have a doubt, now with the time away from it, compare a 286 with an Amiga 500 and their respective release dates and you will laugh at the awesome difference favorising the Amiga, yet, the customers in general where supporting the PC for some weirdo reasons, exactly like some folks support about anything that dont make any sense hehehe)

My computer is crappy so I don't use it for many games, I've never played EQ for PC but I do play EQOA a lot for ps2.. alittle too much actually
EverQuest Online Adventures is an awesome game, great community, I've made many friends on the game and enjoy playing with the friends around my town who have it. I understand the graphics aren't the prettiest but they aren't the worst either. For those of you who do play EQ you know you can sometimes see 70 people in one area at one time.. if SOE made the graphics like FFXI there'd be major lag. I definitely think this game is the best mmorpg for consoles and I love that I can sit on my couch and play it on my tv.
As for your question which would you rather play EQOA or EQ2.. I can't really answer.. Most would say go for EQ2 since everyone likes to buy the newest and best game on the market but personally I think that's the wrong way to go.. it's kind of like how on forums I se e a lot of people asking, "what's the best class and race to play?" I think you get so much more out of a game if you play a character that you personally prefer, a char that you like.. though don't get me wrong some people may just like to play the best class and race. Though what I'm saying is pick the game that you prefer, that you enjoy playing.. ok I've gone on long enough
