Now FE happens to be one of my most anticipated games ever since I first heard of it
Since things actually seem to take on some solid shape now
I'd like to discuss the topic of the actual price for the game.
I am not trying to be a cheap bastard since honestly I don't mind the concept
of a monthly fee in itself if the quality of the game I am playing warrants it.
There is, however something that is always bugging me when deciding whether
I really want to settle for a game that is going to charge me monthly and that
is the question whether I will actually have enough time to devote to the game in order to warrant its price.
In numbers the ideal price for me would be the set amount of 10 Euro (13 US dollars) a month.
A normal price which to me sounds like it's going to generate enough revenue for the game to be profitable
while at the same time it won't making me feel like I've been wasting cash when I didn't have time to play much.
A retail box is ok to me too if it is being sold for a reasonable price which considering you're going to pay
monthly anyway would be at max 30 Euro for the box including one month of playtime.
Now I don't know whether you will agree but personally I think a monthly fee should also include free, somewhat regular updates both in content as well as bugfixes. Charging extra for more or less mandatory content upgrades when you're already paying monthly would in my opinion be somewhat unfair for the customers so personally I wouldn't like something like that.
In short: To me a one time payment for the box + a monthly fee of 10 Euro would for me be the most cost-effective solution.
So what is your opinion ?
Am I being a cheap bastard who's asking for too much or should the game even be cheaper in your opinion ?

Hell, I'd pay extra money for a collectors edition box if they made it.

Star Wars: Galaxies - Ibra Olasi (Valcyn Server) [Dead, screw you SOE]
15$ a month will be just fine. And a free download ofcourse.
I'd go 50 for the game and 15 a month. Hell I may even pay more for the simple fact there are no elves.
I imagine they'll go with the standard $15 a month.
But when considering this question I think you have to take into account the in-game voice chat. That removes the added expense of having to rent your own ventrilo or teamspeak server. That's almost $1 a month (per player) saving just there.

The monthly fee, I agree, should be the standard $15 USD or equivalent.
Still, any special offers would be welcome since although 15 $/ month is a joke compared to what my smoking habit costs me I still like my gaming habit to be cost-effective.
I'd be more excited, but I've been burned by following games developed by small studios before...

I've been watching this game for a long time. Paying the standard price for this game wouldn't bother me at all. The industry needs to get in the habit of having 10-15 day free trials ready to go at launch. By sending these out with the full version to all outlets, this will give players that chance to try before you buy. Sure, this will cost a bit more but I would say they would gain more players paying that $50 and sticking with the game than those who pay the $50 and quit soon after.
This game will have suck pretty bad for me not to play it. I'm having some fun in a fantasy mmog(not WoW), but I would drop it in a heartbeat for something that isn't fantasy.
Anyway on topic $15 is a good sound amount to pay for a game. I usually spend about $60 when between MMO's so its a very fair price in my case. Fallen Earth should hopefully keep my attention as SWG did (without messing up the game hugely after a 2 years.. *Sigh*)

I understand what you mean and I've been in a lot of betas. The idea of the free trials is to get the game more advertisement in the store. You stick a sign up there and they can read the box, but that's not enough to go on anymore. Plus, there are still a lot of gamers out there that don't even know about betas.
