we yes all of us and you as well are so guilty of doing nothing more than rant at games. Damn i remember when i could drink the water in the Stream not 100 feet away from the house. ok so it was 1960 but i could eat the fish as well that were in it.
I for one am soooooooooo happy i have seen the world the way it was ment to be.
Clean water, Clean Air. Fish that were something you could catch and cook at a campfire (shorelunch).for those of us that have been there know what it is like and for those that havent never will.
if you really want to bitch at something ... get off yourt ass and take a look outside.

I've worked on a farm, picked fresh apples off trees as we road atop the bailed hay in the truck back to the Barn... Drank cool clear springwater from a stone springhouse over 100 yrs old... btw old Dr pepper bottles were left in the water as containers for that refreshing drink on hot summer days (after "gettin up hay").

Kids today are more "networked" into games and puters or MoM's soccer or tennis leagues... they don't run out side with their friends playing "bang bang you are dead" games of make believe war, or terrorize the neihborhood on bycycles playing "cops and robbers", or Kick the can? remember that game?
But now it's the pedophile down the street, or the drug dealer around the corner, or the wannabe gangsta that their parents fear. So Vidio games.... are the outlet and mainstay of entertainment.
So your point has more depth than you intended, because society itself is corrupt and hiding from what lays beyond their doors or SUV.

The world is better off than it has been in the past for one good reason: technology. A hundred years ago most folks died of common childhood diseases, today we can prevent that with vaccines, and now the vaccines are easier to make via the "DNA vaccine" model, thus making it cheaper too use them as well [pennies per n thousand doses]. We have cooling and heating systems that keep the rate of death due to environmental factors down. And we have better means to travel than we did a hundred years ago, all due to technology. Global warming may seem to be a problem, but remember it's just one facet of a whole slew of events going on, and I have doubts it will last since some scientists are indicating it will rebound to an Ice Age anyways. And such events will lead us to look for better worlds, and to settle our differences here and now to survive on this one during the search. To look back at the past with recall bias is unacceptable, because it spits in the face of our ancestors who, for their posterity, fought to have a fraction of what we have today.

This is completely debatable and just a matter of opinion as to whether the world is better off. Yes many diseases have been stopped, many others have been created. The infant mortality rate is down, but is abortion up or down? So is the net effect any different. Some people are healthier however this youngest generation of pre-teens is now the first generation that is expected to have a lower life expectancy than their parents, that has never happened in recored history before.
Aye you are right about thought, global warming is happening but it has been happening since the end of the last ice age, its the rate and the amount of human influence that is up for debate.
And I'm sure our ancestors also looked at the past with fond memories.
