I've ordered all of my components for my new machine from Newegg already and now i'm just down to a monitor. I'd like to go with something larger than my 19" and was thinking of going with a 22" widescreen. I have seen some prices for some around the $280 area and i'm concerned that I won't be happy with what I get as I can't see it in person. I know that a lot of people like the ViewSonics but the ones I see on displays in stores look like they put a clear plastic faceplate over the monitor and I don't like it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I would like to stay around the $300 price range as my new machine listed below kinda made a dent in my pocketbook. Also, anyone gaming on a 22" widescreen let me know what you think.

Well, if it's a 22" and it's only $280 then it's probably not 8ms. You want 8ms or 5ms because it won't ghost. Anything above 8 will give you trails in games and movies and it just a shitty picture all around.
Also, widescreen can be a pain in the ass to deal with. Drivers needed, resolutions, stretching, etc. You just open yourself up to a whole new world of problems when you go widescreen.
I'm in the market for a new monitor atm. I am looking at this monitor. I have a buddy who has the same thing, but a little bit older model.
Edit: OK, that's not the monitor I was looking at the other night. That's a widescreen, but even still if you want a widescreen that's a good monitor. $179 19" and 5ms.
Edit2: Just looked at the 22" widescreens on NewEgg and they are all 5ms. That's all you really need to worry about and getting a good brand. As long as the reviews are good then you should be good to go.
A Work in Progress.
Add Me
And it IS 5ms
