Global game?

"This Stress Test is restricted to United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand residents only."

Being European, I just decided not to join this mmorpg. Thanks for making your priorities clear, Turbine. Pity, I was looking forward to it.

Because of international laws regarding software, smaller independant (as small and independant as turbine is) usually farm out production / distribution to someone else.  This includes handling stress tests, contests, prizes, etc...  In the case of LOTRO, Turbine has teamed up with Codemasters to handle EU (similiar to what they did with DDO).

Doesn't make it any better for you, just thought I would elucidate a bit.

Why would the fact that the NA server stress test include only the areas that use the NA client deture you from joining this game. You can if you want pre order a NA version of the game and play on the NA servers. As i can order a EU client and play on the EU servers from here in America. Codemasters handles your area of the world for the game. As midway handles my area.

We have americans in the EU beta.

A lot of them came in from last weeks stresstest when a site offereded 8000 beta keys.

    As for the OP.

yeah it sucks that we don't have global servers but it's not the first company that use it and not the last simply because of different partners across the world so we just have to deal with it.

Codemasters handles the EU version and servers and that's not always a bad thing.

EU is 1 patch behind US.

So if US releases a bad patch it not us that will suffer from it because the big flaws will be fixed before Codemasters have

     finished the translated versions.

Plus we get a way better ping when we play in EU on EU servers.

I have ping 45 from Denmark to the servers in france.
