Any word on the new server?

Ok, so AC devs are firing up a new AC server...any word yet on what kind it will be?
I can only assume it will be another standard NPK server but a new PK server...not necessarily the same as Darktide but something different...would be nice

Please note that some things may change; nothing is etched in stone. If there are modifications that need to be made, perhaps the mods can edit this post, or will allow me to pm them things that need to be modified or added in the future. The current ETA for the new server is May 12th, the same day as the May patch. One can hope this will change, and they'll push the new server out a couple of days, just to make sure that there are no problems with the May patch, and to lessen the load on the servers. We shall see.

What's the name of the server going to be?

The new server name has been announced as Verdantine. In my not-so-humble opinion, we should call it VT. VD is, well, VD.

Will it go live on a patch day?

Current plans are yes, Virginia, it will open on May patch day. We can hope that they will change this, as WE and SC didn't. And the thought of 3,000+ people trying to log in and create characters is bad enough--add "downloading a patch" to all that, I think they should wait a bit. Plus, wouldn't it suck to log in and level like mad and then get rolled back for a hotfix? I think it might.

Will there be Nexus Armor, PPGSA, blue Energy
Crystals, pack dolls, any of the server unique
or "pre-patch" items?

If it is available *to be obtained* in the game at the time the server goes live, it will be in the game. If you have to trade for it, it probably won't be. Uniques, historical items, and pre-patch items will not be present. If it's pre-patch, it's pre-server, and it won't be there. The only pre-patch or historical items you'll see on the new server will be in Ulgrim's house.

Will Turbine start the new server from the
start of the storyline?

No. As we learned from the Herald event, the servers can't diverge. The new server will start from the same place the old servers are at when the new server goes live.

Will third-party apps be permitted?

Yes. Jessica herself has said it would be stupid to try to ban third-party apps.

Will UCMing be permitted?

Currently, no. Whatever the CoC is for all the other servers is what the CoC will be for the new server. If UCMing is permitted on LC, FF, HG, TD, MT, SC, WE, and DT, it will be permitted on the new server. If it isn't, it won't.
Also, no plans in the immediate future to change the CoC, that only UCMs are considered violations.

Will all the housing be open from day one?

Turbine hasn't decided this one yet. Ibn has indicated this is currently under discussion, and has not indicated either way what it might be.
Ibn also said that whatever they decide, they will let us know beforehand.

Will it be a white or red server?

It will be a standard mostly-white plus PKL plus PK server. Future servers, however, may include different rules (like no 3rd party or RP only or the like). srand has indicated that Turbine would put up an additional red server before they put up any special-rules ones in a dev chat.
