This isn't even close to any kind of discussion. This game is so far above WoW right now it's not even funny. I really can't think of one thing this game does to try and 'clone' WoW. There are zero similarities between the 2 games. Where WoW perfected the genre, SoNW advances the genre.
Apples and Oranges.

I'm sorry, it advances it how? With the same kind of generic music (save for a few outstanding tunes) as most other free to play games on the market? With the same old hack and slash formula? Or with the zero trade skills/anything else to do other than kill kill kill kill? Or were you referring to everyone looking exactly the same with little to no differences in armor and weapons?
I have high hopes for this game. I do. The MCC concept is incredible and the game IS fun. However I don't think, as the game is now, it advances anything other than the ability to control more than one character. It is an awesome addition, yes. However WoW is so far ahead in terms of variety that to say there is no way it stacks up to Granado is just a foolish statement. I don't think Granado will ever surpass WoW, and my worst fear is that it becomes another cash shop controlled eastern MMORPG just like the billion others, with the ultra cool edition of the MCC.
When Granado can give me something else to do other than fight, whether it be tradeskills, a reason to explore, or hell, just some freaking fishing, I'll start comparing it to WoW. But as it stands RIGHT NOW, Granado is a mindless, though fun, online game with hints of roleplay, while games like WoW, EQ, Vanguard, and the like try to be (whether they succeed or not is up to every individual person) second worlds.
I hope that didn't come across as me saying Granado isn't any good or that WoW is the greatest thing ever, because neither of those are true. You're right, they are two different games. And as it is right now, WoW offers more, plain and simple. I hope that changes because I would like to see a new king. I don't think it will be this game though.
Totally diff games, and i dont see hwo anyone could possibly see any similarities between the two tbh. I like GE much better though, the char control system is fun and the diff stances brings a nice depth in gameplay.

Your post was intresting untill you said the game was mindless.
close beta has just begin. skills like crafting is not even released yet. and here u are already asking for fishing. =_= ... i think it's best to wait for most of the things to release.

Well, it not just allows you to control more than 1 character, it allow you to create a family (a pool of character) and create several types of party from the family depends on what you want to do. That is an original concept, unheard of in the MMORPG world until now and that is advancing the genre.
Entertainment value speaking, GE is at least equal if not surpass WoW. If I only have couple hours a day to play, why would I want any trade skill? or fishing? hell I just want some mindless hack and slash but incredibly fun while doing it.
Now now, don't get me wrong, I think Granado is very fun. Just I like the variety in WoW more.
And I think I said that I know it was beta and as it stands NOW, in beta, it lacks the variety to compare to WoW. If I didn't say that I apologize, I meant to.
I'm a simple kind of guy, I was such a huge fan of the most mundane things in UO like fishing of using the worthless detective skill. And I think thats what most games lack now. In UO you were a nobody unless you became somebody through player events or just everyday actions you made. There were not a dozen quests declaring you the only savior of the world, just like every other player that took the quest, ala WoW. It was just you and whatever you wanted to change. I miss those days. Games like WoW and Granado ARE fun and probably more advanced than UO, but they lack the everyday second world feel that UO had. Everyone's a hero now.
And Granado its even worse because, though it is in beta and could change, everyone looks the same, everyone does the same quests in the same area, and theres nothing to do to break the monotony. Is it fun? Yes. Is it mindless? To me, yes, although I openly admit I have not played through the entire world and seen everything, so I could very well be wrong on that. The time I've played has been pretty much clicking on one spot, clicking on a monster, clicking another spot, clicking a monster, clicking to grab an item, clicking on a spot, etc, etc, just to level up to get better gear which usually looks the same. It's fun, but extremely lacking in depth.
That isn't to say it's no good, because it is. It's different and it's fun and if the gold game includes trade skills and the like that the beta lacks, I could very well call it my MMORPG home. But until then, at this very moment, it's very much a hack and slash eastern online game. That's not a bad thing really. Just compared to games like WoW, it's kind of shallow when it comes to variety. Hence the differences between the two, which is what I was responding to in the first place. I think. I didn't mean to write a short story about it all
I think its better to give this game a little bit more time to make such an opinion when it comes to content. I think everyone agrees that the quest and persona variety is limited in v1.83. However, in v2.0, 4000 quests are added, crafting is added, more costume variety is added. This is all in hopefully in the next phase of beta as well. It's not like saying it has the potential to add everything you want in a game; this stuff has already been introduced and only needs to be translated. I would have a bit more patience till atleast Open Beta before forming an opinion about Content.

4000 quests? Was that just a thrown number or are you serious?
If so, I'll be playing this game for a long time. I'm a big quest addict =P

Ignore the OP, he's just trolling for a reaction. He probably doesn't even know what forum he's posting on.
I have a theory,
EQ is a WoW clone...discuss makes about as much sense as this knothead.

Especially since this game's quests rock
Therefore no need to compare the two.
This topic fails and so does the op.
And so do I for posting in this thread.
Oops not 4000, it was actually hundreds. Still 40 quests per level is kinda insane,
