What kind of system requirements needed?

Hi

I would like to know whether AoC would need really high system requirements as I'm thinking about getting a new PC and would like to be able to play AoC. Hopefully you won't need as high req as Vanguard?

Well seeing all the nice graphics and such I am thinking it's going to need a nice rig to run it well. I am finally upgrading my comp when this game comes out thats for sure :)

A very high end comp, a next generation game will need a next generation computer with DX10 if you want the whole graphical package

The game is going to start out as DX9. Then I think I heard somewhere that it's going to have a downloable upgrade to DX10.

hmmm...ok...do you guys think if i get an intel core 2 duo with 2Gb of RAM and a decent graphics card should be enough?

    Definately

P4 3GHz processor and one gig of ram are their current projected minimum requirements, this is obviously open to change, but it seems rather unlikely it will change much at this point.

Aelfinn is correct. But, usually you want to be a little above the system requirements to run smoothly. Hopfully they'll release system recommendations.

Obviously if you intend on running AoC on Vista/DX10, then you're going to need a high-end computer with an 8800 GPU. However, the devs have said that the game graphics will be customisable so that players with machines a couple of years old will be able to play the game smoothly.

A rule of thumb the devs used was, "If your machine is good enough to run TES:Oblivion smoothly, then it will be able to run AoC smoothly."

The system requirements are the only thing that bothers me. Bless those game makers who are starting to make decent, popular games with lower requirements. Things are getting too crazy if you ask me.  I will have an AMD 3.something and a few gigs of ram by the end of this year. I hope they dont play favorites with processor manufacturers. The usual video card hassle is enough.
