That part is not set into stone - it might only be a few days before release maybe it will be an early access period like they stated in some interviews. If you are serious about it shoot for the other possibilities.
Edit: I think you can preorder at EBgames but as I said that part is a contradiction with some interviews I wouldn't count on it.

Just to clear it up, they do not have a spot on the website that says, "Sign up for the beta testing here!" They only want people who will be into the game, thus the choosing of Dark Age of Camelot players and people who care enough to get the newsletter.
