Some Q&A tidbits I thought you all would enjoy
These came from our fellow beta participants over at the Codemasters beta forums, but I thought you all might find the answers interesting!

Q2. When joining this beta i thought LOTRO will be more like a faction influence fight or something equivalent (not only good vs evil but also every region of the world that could compete in a way to gain some influence in the world, that could for example, give access to some special ressources or so). Is a similar system foreseen? |
Annuvin says, "We plan on pushing towards a reputation system as we get further in the storyline. The strong factionalization that plagues Middle-earth should come to the forefront as we get closer to the formal outbreak of the War of the Ring."

Q3. Are there more classes that could be implemented in the game? Something like race specific class for each race could be nice (like captain for humans), as i feel dwarves (for eg) don't have many job possibilities... |
Annuvin says, "Heh, it’s great that you asked this! Initially I wanted to introduce new classes with major region openings. And example would be a new Dwarf class when we unfolded Moria, a new Man class when we unfolded Rohan, etc. We feel there are quite a few new classes that could be added to the game, we just want to ensure that the classes we launch with are quality and fun before we heap more on."

Q5. On a long term stage, starter areas in the game will eventually become low populated. Is there any plan working as an incentive for higher level adventurers/crafters to come back? |
Annuvin says, "We will be consistently layering content through our game, as going live is only the beginning of populating Middle-earth. Our larger social hubs (Bree, for instance) will have a universal appeal providing entertainment for characters of all levels, while our evolving storyline, when mixed with our landscape instances, will provide more and more opportunities for higher level people to co-mingle with lower level folks."

Q8 Seeing that LotRO does not have a reputation system (As in suspicous npcs not giving you quest, selling you things more expensive etc.) at the moment, are there any chances that something like this will be implemented post-launch? |
Annuvin says, "Heh, see above. Short answer: yes! Expect reputation to come online post launch, as it’s key to representing the difficulties that Middle-Earth faces as it gets closer to the inevitable War of the Ring."

Q31: Are more options planned for character creation? |
Annuvin says, "We plan on devoting the majority of our art resources to creating more impressive equipment for players to acquire in game. We also plan on adding a few more cosmetic modifications to characters, allowing some to look older/more weathered than they do currently."

Q32: Do you have plans to make the npcs more active and less static. For example, have more npcs in the Pony during the night? |
Annuvin says, "Also a very good question! We plan on pushing on a live event system, similar to our first product, Asheron’s Call. You can expect more cyclical events to come, ranging from more activity during the night, to more activity after certain characters fight off certain minions of Sauron…"

I particularly loved the information about the event cycle going in like on Asheron's Call. I've been longing for a new MMO to come out with a similar design. When blizzard responded to questions of "Will gnomeregan ever be inhabitable again?" with"no, because it'd change the experience for new players".. my heart sank.
I like games to change, and I like the world to feel like it is progressing.
Playing a horselord in Rohan would make me a very happy man indeed as well..

I could not have said it better myself. AC1 was my first MMO and I still remember looking into the sky and seeing Belzuran’s (spelling?) image revealed by a flash of lighting. At first I was not sure that anything was there so the next time a storm rolled in I just stood there and watched…
Then to actually have him come and all the waters of the world turn to blood… that is what an MMO should be, a world that grows and lives.
