in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

I have just started playing this game and it rules.
But on my pc

a Pentium 2.66 ghz
1024mb ddr ram
256mb Geforce 6600
with realtek A97 audio

The game runs very laggy, on high performance.

I'd very much like to get this running smoother,
and I can upgrade but I'm very leery about purchasing expensive PC equipment.

So which should I upgrade first, which would more drastically improve my performance?

    dump the p4 , grab either amd  dual core or pentium duocore

    get a mobo with  dual pci x (for the future)

    Grab a meduim pci x card maybe a 7serists gts from nvidia

    drop 2 gigs of ram

    you should be golden , other then that it is the game itself.

    You could also do some vgclient.ini tweaks and there's a guide for that here: forums.tentonhammer.com/showthread.php



    Finally, if you haven't done so already defrag your hard drive. I don' t know how much of a performance boost you'd be getting, but it's definitely cheaper than buying a new graphics card. I'd at least try these steps before you go upgrading your hardware.

    Just get another gig of RAM and if thats not enough get a geforce 7600 or above video card .  Those 2 upgrade made a world of difference on my crappy PC.
