Dan Fortier returns this week to give us all an easy-to-use template for our very own MMO rant.

I know there are quite a few of you who frequent the site and zealously pour through the news and forums and dream of being a great writer one day. What a thrill is must be to have a weekly column and have others marvel at the magnus opus you create! Sadly, not everyone has the chance to carve their name in the meaty flank of the internet on a regular basis and fewer still get recognized for their talent. With this in mind, I decided to create a Do-It-Yourself article so that everyone could share in the magic of this week's rant. All you have to do is fill in the blanks with the right set of words. Soon you too will be a master at angering your readers while offering no solutions. Enjoy!

    I assume you meant "blank" check.

    Just sort of browsed it. It is one that I am sure will want to read more closely later but did get a good laugh out of it today.

If you did one, how long will it take for you to proofread your own after writing paragraph after paragraph of a MMO rant that would take you as long as one of the worst 'mad lib'-ish rants that you ever wrote? Do you have the time and the partial skill to write out the whole thing? Granted, I myself, would think it would be damn funny to see what anyone wrote depending on your creative skill of course. Me, personally, would like to see someone attempt this I'd bet there would be some funny results that would ensue.

    Umm ok so what was that article about again?

    Time for the writer to take a big step back from the keyboard and go skiing or something… like on real snow.

    Yeah, the MMO-WTF articles suck, and they suck hard. They're not funny, they are often plagued with spelling and grammatical errors, and they convey nothing worthwhile to the MMO community.



    So, in closing, congratulations for wasting our time with yet another pointless article.

    Nice. This sums up about every other writer's method on this site. If only people would write informative editorials about something other than WoW I'd come back to read more than just MMOWTF.

    As much as I can appreciate humour I find absolutely nothing funny about this article.

    People come here to express their concerns about the MMO industry and Fortier dismisses those concerns as trivial by claiming the poster is trying nothing more then to be a better "writer". God forbid that that poster may actually be articulate.

    This kind of treatment seems strangely familiar to me.

    Fortier, do you also work for SOE?

    It was not a misspelling or a grammatical error. It was a typo. It has nothing to do with being anal retentive and everything to do with expecting a bit of professionalism. I was also being sarcastic. What's your excuse? Having a bad life? Don't take it out on me, bud.

    Wow, do you people have a life other than to argue about a simple bit of humor that was intendend to be funny? I think the idea was  just to mess around and try something different now and again. Can someone at least share some humor rather than be soo uptight about how wrong this goes about the whole MMO comunity? I think the idea was to have a little fun and to show off how someone can be creative for once and enjoy a good laugh. Now is that so hard people or is this just really that stupid that we are just going to be like "WTH was this crap"?
