I miss you SWG...

Hmm since the CU i've been spending ages looking for a new mmorpg but just can't find anything i like. I've been havign shortterm fun with TBC on WOW but i got bored of it pretty fast because it doesn't provide what i want apart from fun PVP that gets annoying when you notice it's actually pretty crap lol. I've played them all and it's suprising how none of them offer what SWG offered back in the day.

Theres just no sense of community that SWG had in any games today. All the social features what made the game sooo special have been destroid in this game and even if they rolled back to pre cu or added it all back in the community would still be destroid. I want to turn back time and keep it at player cities and vehicles patch in nov 2003.

 

EQ2: Cities are empty, no social content and people just don't stop and talk to eachother. Everyone normally only talks to their guilds and doesn't do things outside of that. The game is soooo instanced aswel it really kills meeting people and makes the world feel empty.

WOW: People just play alone together, only talk i seem to get is "gimme gold" "you noob" "help me complete this quest" "inv me". Everyones in the BG's or Raids and theres no housing or any social content at all. Most people on EU servers don't want to group with people who arn't from their country too lol.



EVE: I just hate all the changes to the game, i prefered the old simple game where there was a close lovely community. Now it's just full of fanbois and flamers and theres tooo much to catch up on aswel. My giant corp Rona has vanished and i lost all my friends.

 

That completes the list of anything decent out there :( The rest is empty, buggy or just crap lol

    I'm a SWG refugee also. I tried all the dungeon/orc games, and can't stand them.  I hold out hopes for Conan however.   I have been passing the time in city of heroes.  It definately doesnt have the depth as pre-nge swg, but it passses the time.  The pvp is great in the Freedom server.  Try it out for free, it will entertain you for a little while.

    It would be cool if someone was able to replicate or *cough* emulate *cough*  the old PReCU game. Hmmmmm........maybe a google search would help........

    I too am a lost refugee. I've been recently having strong cravings for the old school SWG, or hell, just the ambience of being in-game and having the music play. I really do miss what the game used to be, and how infused I was with it. After the SWG NGE fall-out, I tried EVE-Online which was short-lived, I went back to WoW and have been playing it and the TBC expansion since (which is getting terribly boring)... hell, I even tried UO and couldn't get into it. SWG used to be everything I looked for in an MMORPG, and I loved every second I played it. However, I refused to even give a dollar just go go back in-game and just run around Ahazi, which has since become totally desolate.



    I refuse to play the SWG-Emu for a number of reason. Primary reason being that I did packet analysis and decryption for the team for awhile, and it's unfortunate, but they're just total assholes. Secondly, I don't think the Emu will EVER get finished. They haven't even touched crafting and static spawns, and combat is extremely mediocre at this point. I don't see that project ever turning into a success, but instead just one gigantic problem.



    However, if you were to ask me, "Even though SOE/LucasArts completely bent you over and slipped you the manslab, if they were to ever release Pre-Cu servers, would you go back?", I wouldn't hesitate in ethusiastically saying yes. I'd drop trow once more just to get Pre-Cu back, infact. Yeah, I know. Weaksauce.

    E hmmm a pre-cu  M server a  U  would like that hmmm like  where u can play the old  school server gee i wounder where u could find 1 google hmmm dont know  guess u will have to look around LOL
