Please, get a clue. WoW is a real game, with real players and real content. Darkfall MIGHT be in testing, and MIGHT never see a full release.

I'll pass on the "real gamers" and go where I can actually PLAY the game.

Well, I was not going to ping you for this post, until you took your gratuitous shot at WoW instead of staying on-topic about DF.

I really DO hope that all the Griefing, Ganking, PKing, KSing, 'Hardcore', Masochistic, Sociopaths find a home in DF.

They were *supposed* to have found a home in Shadowbane, and more recently, V:SoH. But alas, such has not been the case. They still seem to be trolling around for something else.

back on topic, one would have to be blind to think that WOW is for everyone based on the MMORPG.com forums. There is no great crusade to fight on these boards. There are those that support WOW here yes, but there are even more that flame the thing the minute it is mentioned. Plenty of people "mention that WOW is not so good" already.

In all seriousness, good luck with your game but don't overhype it. A couple games got billed the same way you're advertising Darkfall (RV, RFO spring to mind) and only ended up disappointing people.

I would think if petty people like you would overcome your 'hatred' of PvP and try it for once in an environment that doesn't reward superior levels/gear (there are NO LEVELS),but MANUAL combat skills and good teamwork,then I think Darkfall appeals to a wider audience.

Crafters who seek risk in their crafting. PvE'rs who want quests that may involve killing other players,and also intelligent AI to fight. And so on.

Ok,maybe some of the shallow & stereotypical groups you mention in the quote WOULD play Darkfall; but they play other games too. Even WOW. The only difference is that WHEN the uber epic-geared mage attacks you in Darkfall,you can beat them down with clever dodging and a few well-aimed wooden sword smacks.

Overhyping Darkfall is perhaps a bad thing,but I'm willing to at least TELL people about it and let them make their own minds up. So far the people who have heard about Darkfall,even IN WOW are impressed; they'd like a release date/OB time,but they're generally impressed by the sounds of it. Just running through the standard geatures each time of Darkfall is enough to make people in F2P grinder games,P2P grinder games and otherwise stop in awe. So far.

I would back Darkfall to be the 'black horse' of this year,if not a possible breath of fresh air to the MMORPG genre.

your speaking like it HAS been released and HAS those options available, what developers intend on doing and what actually gets done are usually two completely separate things. call me jaded or whatever , but i think we've all learned this over the past few years. and yes, i look forward to darkfall but that's where i'll leave it.

back on topic, one would have to be blind to think that WOW is for everyone based on the MMORPG.com forums. There is no great crusade to fight on these boards. English is taught at a young age in the Netherlands. My nephew was raised there from birth to 14. No excuse.

Really on topic. Whenever Darkfall is released, which if it stays on current trend won't be til 2012, I pray it takes all the hardcore gamers with it. I play a game to enjoy myself, interact with people from all over and escape reality. While I do not mind PvP, a game based solely on it is just a glorified FPS. You can have Darkfall, I will stay with the carebears on WoW and CoH/CoV.

Suitepee, I feel what you are saying man, I really do. I'm sure everyone here would love Darkfall to come out soon and deliver on everything it promises. However, you have to keep in mind that this community has seen many awesome looking games not fulfill their original concepts or, even worse, end up like Dark and Light. Its not that anyone is trying to bash your game or doesn't want it to turn out great. It's just that over the years the majority of the MMORPG community has developed a general skepticism to any developer's promises in every stage of development. Basically what I'm saying is, "Ya, that sounds cool and all, but I'll believe it when I see it."

Darkfall is one of the few titles I'm watching for. However I'm not about to get my hopes up that all the dev's promises will make it into the game. If they do it will be an absolute blast of a game. History, however, has proven that it usually takes years after release for dev promises to see the light of day.

I'm looking forward to darkfall... I'm just not going to overhype it before it's even in beta.

I really have my hopes up for this game but fear it may turn into a Dark and Light or Vanguard and disappoint with unreal expectations. Then again it has been in development so long that it may turn into the production quality of LoTRO so who knows. Lets hope for the genre that they can meet their design goals because this game offers a very different approach then most of the new games on the market.

1. Stop loving Darkfall.

2. Stop hating Darkfall.

3. Let threads like this just die like they are supposed to.

4. Be patient and see what Darkfall will turn into before condemning it / praising it for it's unreleased content.
