Everything has been tossed into the sand so much it's hard to tell which is which. Hack and slash or First person shooters
its been done over and over. no matter if its WoW,EQ,Vanguard, or something else, same thing different place.
to me Games are getting downright Old and worn out JUST like me ).
It would be really wild if all the Game developers got togeather and made one MASSIVE game say 100 Gig, lol nowww that would need a Patch or three ROFL.
I was really bummed out when D@L got ripped to shreads. it would have been really a great game .. ohh well. lets put Gothic 1,2,3 and Oblivion togeather ) . noo ok how about a Wild west show....naa that wont work eather, not enough horses and half the Cowboys would fall off anyway. Just having a Bit of a fun. to be honest i really dont know and i play em as i see em one at a time )

I have to disagree....MMORPG at the moment are similair, I mean I havent seen anything new in an MMO...its all the same hack and slash, sure you get an innovative fighting system or great storyline but its still the same, you go kill do a quest and finish.....
If anything i want something new, maybe a game that doesnt focus on violence or fighting, hey I do admit i love my fighting but so far every game has the fights as meaningless...so you killed 100 knights, does that make you any more feared? hated? or loved? no you are still the same gamer.....
something involving the supernatural world and ghosts and shite
or maybe a nice resident evil style zombie mmo... either be a zombie or a person trying to fight for his/her life in a world gone crazy wow that actually sounds good for top of the head shite lol weeee!
Tournament PvP. 1v1, 2v2, 4v4. You can become the best by climbing to the top of a win based ranking system based on how well you play, not how long.
Maxed out your Squirtal? Start leveling your Muck to diversify your battling options without become overpowered. Effectively solves the “I'm done leveling and bored; raise the level cap” and imbalance the game problem.
Don't want a corpse run to rez your Pichachu? Pull out wour Magmar. Death dilemma solved.
Need a huge IP to get the initial players needed for critical mass and become a sucess..not many bigger than Pokemon.
Yeah, many would call it lame, but I bet it would kill WoW dead.
well since everyone overlooks sci fi MMOs and ALWAYS wnats fantasy or history related one then i wold get the advanced future setting. I might even go with space since EVE was a nice game, maybe not as Detailed and specific to let in some more peeps but yea
A world detailed and expanded on R.A. Salvatore's work.

I'd like to see a civilization like mmorpg where players are the citizens of each land/nation working together to advance their nation. Yes there should be ages starting at the stone age or whatever and moving on slowly towards the future age by age with each age being unique graphically and in terms of facility/items/life style. Advancement to the next age should be strictly based on the efforts of the citizens of any given nation. It is valid that your nation might still be struggling in the stone age while your neighbor nation has just invented gun powder. I know this is huge and tough to implement, but hey i'm allowed to dream
It should be skill based not class based. You can basically get into anything if you invest in it. Skill trees should include science and invention, spirituality, military/warfare, politics, production, education, entertainement among other things.
One's freedom of action is restricted by factors like the current political system (obeying the law), social standing (reputation) and relations with other nations (crossing borders and such).
There should be a political leadership of players based on the political system of the nation. I know this can get tricky, but i'm hoping the way the system is implemented should be abuse proof.
I would make one where you would be a monster or an alien, not a humanoid, that would have a huge number of possibilities. I like the mechwarrior idea as well.
Steam Punk theme w/ airships. Several types of rewarding PVP that can be accessed through a central hub. PvE content added after release spreading from the central hub.
I have a few I would like to see done. The first two are very possible with current technology but the last I doubt would ever occurr.
1. A horror survival MMO based off Romero's Night of the Living Dead series. The concept is rather simple. Instead of PvP, it would be RvR. You would not be a member of a city when first starting, you must fight your way through a zombie filled tutorial to get to an open area where you have one of five towns to pick from. The towns would battle for things such as waterways, power plants and so on all while trying to prevent zombies from invading your city. Classes would range from scavanger to soldier to medic.
2. I know this will sound lame but a PvP/PvE Prehistoric game. Simply put, you are a caveman. You battle both man and creature to survive.
3. I don't really know how it would be possible but I would love to see a MMO based off the Dune novels. The chance to play a Fremen just makes me all tingly inside.

The horror survival MMO is a fantastic idea, bring on the zombies!
for fantasy i would love to see a R.Jordan game ,, and hey bill me 2 $ more a month and use it to hira 'actors' to actually play key figures in the game.
Only thing is most people who can bash a game all day long can't put their skills where their mouth is.
Those who can do, create; Those who cannot, complain.
I understand the need for constructive criticism. However I could never understand the people who sit and whine for the sake of whing and do nothing about it.
MAFFIA- mmorpg OR MAFFIA vs LAW . with guns and year would be like 1930-50s .. 3rd person shooter .. .maby with cars ( cost much) A coumpounds( guild HQ). NY-map . Missions--- like in Godfather(mafia) or smthing. but in mmo-style.
I would make a game where the players have the power. The game just delivers the environment and methods so that a player can play any way he wants. The underlying structure should create a diverse world with a preset of simple rules.
What I would want:
- You can create guilds and alliances.
- You can kill who you want to where you want to but you must live with the consequences.
- Partial player looting (some of the items should not be droppable so that some people do use expensive items)
- Standings (between players, guilds, alliances and main fractions).
- Risk = Reward.
- No levels, just a skill system.
- Players create their own spells and fighting techniques (Point system). Imagine if you had to create a spell by doing a mouse gesture. (directions = components like fire, ice; length of lines = amount of component used etc). You create your fighting skills before battle nad use them in battle. This should create a unique set of skills for everyone.
- Crafting and harvesting would be somewhat like the original SWG system.
- Important: PvPers and Crafters need each other. Without PvPers Crafters cannot get ingredients or sell their goods. Without Crafters PvPers do not have proper stuff to fight with.
- Anti Blobbing mechanism: AOE anyone?
- FPS. Makes movement and aiming important. Wouldn't it be nice to fight a monster and manually dodge its attacks? I would love to win because of my strategy than because of some number (level) of my character.
--- Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
I'm not gonna share too many of my ideas because there's a small chance a couple friends of mine might actually get with me to work on it....but
Cyberpunk themed. I liked the feel of the Dystopia mod for HL2.
No "magic" elements in it. AO was okay but the nanos were cheesy imo.
Good plot. Actually have storyline to it; yet keep it open enough for players to develop their own stories.
Lots of things to do besides shooting people up and racking up cred.
Talking something like AO's use of Nightclubs, except better.
it would be a very mature themed game because I'm a cyberpunk purist;
And I'm not talking vulgar language and gory graphics, I mean harsh details that fit within the genre.
Running drugs, stolen goods, Yakuza contracts, corporate take overs....all that fun stuff.
Would like to see concepts like addiction in the game.....drugs, chrome, augments, the live fast, die young, leave a good looking corpse type thing. There would be no stat levels per se; for every modification there is a price somewhere.
It wouldn't be for everyone. But man, given the resources, I'd try my damndest to make it one of the best ones out there that would last a while.
Comments
hell ya, Babylon 5 mmo would rock.
Im just waiitng for a space MMO to get it right.
Gees it a hard one mate.

RISING DRAGOON ~AION US ONLINE LEGION for Elyos

Might & Magic "worlds of Xeen" or The Elder Scrolls "Morrowind:
I have a couple in mind. But here's one:

And um..... that's all I have in mind right now.

1, Elder Scrolls universe!
2, Cyber MMOG, based on William Gibson's universe. Something like Neocron, but waaaaaay better
DB
Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.
"Lick My Weapons"
for fantasy i would love to see a R.Jordan game ,, and hey bill me 2 $ more a month and use it to hira 'actors' to actually play key figures in the game.
I would make a MMORPG with elves, and orcs, and all kinds of Tolkein like fantasy creatures

Talent
Yes, I also find that shallow and pedantic.
