If its already been posted Im sorry for reposting.  But here is the first screenshot I have seen from the High Res client. 

I got this off of the Beta boards.

Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

    Just saw the same thing earlier on the boards... WOW.

    Apparently, the pre-order DVD comes with the high res client and if you're in beta now, you can load the client and use it.  I'm heading to Best Buy after work to pick one up!

    Oh my goodness that is an amazing picture! If only my system could run graphics like that.

    I am installing the highres client right now.  I've been running the game maxed and have found the graphics stunning.  Now it is going to be even better

    Not that I have seen.  Isn't that kind of crappy?  I guess you'll have to wait until release when you get the full game

    I don't think so :(  It seems that right now it only comes on the preorder dvd.

    I played the game for a few weeks on my old system.. it ran very well on medium settings, but I lagged an incredible amount.  I thought it was Turbine.... LOL was I wrong.  I just purchased a new system about 3 weeks ago and have been playing the game maxed with every setting and standing in awe at the graphics and NEVER lagging.. not even on long horse rides.  The only time I had any type of lag were very very small studders in Bree during last week's stress test.  I felt bad saying no if someone asked in /ooc if anyone else was lagging.

    What I thought was the client, was my system.  I can't wait to see those hi-res graphics...  as if the current graphics aren't incredible now!

    People love the graphics now -- and currently they are seeing the Lo-Res version.

    At retail release (sooner for some people), we will all have access to the Hi-Res Client.

    It's sweet and delicious eye-candy!

    It looks amazing, too bad my current video card wouldn't be able to handle the hi-res client.

    the guy who took that screenie posted his specs

    AMD Athlon 64 3500 OC'd just a smidge

    1 GB OCZ 3200 platinum 2 OC'd to around 4000

    BFG 7800GT OC not overclocked beyond BFG's

    2 74 GB raptors raided for gaem and windows

    2 80 GB WD SE's raided for 1.6 GB swap file (and data drive)

    First impression is yeah it looks better than the regular textures in particular in the armor which is just knock down gorgeous, but in most game play situations I would not probably notice the differance unless I was looking for it. Honestly I will probably just use it for screenshots because the low res textures look just fine and I can get another 10 - 15 FPS.

    The only difference in the high res client is a file named:

    high-res.dat



    If anyone with the highres client can up the file and share it, that would be awesome.

    /agree, they did well.  I run at high during normal play and it's hard to really tell the difference.  Ultra-high runs well for me, but when I clicked 'Detect Optimal Settings' it set me down to High so I just leave it there when I'm not gawking at the scenery.

    the graphics are kick butt even without the high res.

    a year or two down the road though itll be a neat upgrade when i replace mu machine :)

    LOTRO graphics are very good, better then lotro atm maybe only AOC graphics.
