Hey everyone. I was wondering if you guys could post your opinions about CoH. I missed the closed beta because I was too busy even though I got an invitation for the beta. My brother and I are thinking if buying the game and is willing to play the fee of $15 a month, but is the game good? We just went to go buy Lineage 2 today and the game is like, really boring in beta and all. We were thinking of returning Lineage 2 and getting CoH instead but we don't know if the game's all that good or not. image

Coh is a very good game.

    - The game is based more on action and having fun leveling, bot playing for the sole purpose of lvling.

    - The community is awesome, evryone is friendly and willing to help you out and group.

    - The graphics are amazing, huge enviroments and imagintive enemies.

    - finnally, the character customization is the best i have ever seen, you could literally spend 30 mins making a Hero.

This game is nothing like the boring L2, it is a lot of fun and i hope you choose it.

This game is worth the $50 and then 15 a month.  Like before community is great and cosamization is just crazy.  With the subscription you also get a comic book.  It is fun to play.

The way that I look at it is this. Everyone looks for different things in a game. No game, in my opinion, has been able to give everyone everything. This game does what it does very well. It is superhero slugfest at its best.

There is no crafting, there are no uber items, there is currently no PvP. For those that want that, this is currently not the game to get.

If you want most any superhero you want to build, teamed up in desperate battles, around, above and under Paragon City, then this is your game.

There is occasional lag, but even with a large load on the servers, I rarely see major problems since the indoor missions "dungeons" are splinters and seperate from the main server. This prevents my pet peeve of camping a spawn. If you get a mission where you have to defeat a certain type of villian, look for people that have indoor missions for the same villian and you will complete it in no time.

Still thinking about it but I heard that there is alot of pre-teens in the game roaming around. That's my encounter with the game. The character making my other brother loved. He spent 3 whole hours just making one character and then ends up deleting them and making new ones. Still thinking... image

I have no prob with the pre-teens as long as they are not idots and if they are that is why i love the /ignore command.  It works really good=)

There are going to be pre-teens in every online game.  I myself have two kids who play 9 and 10.  I have set them down and explained to them the evils of KSing and spaming the broadcast channel (actualy did this when they played DAoC).  We have a good time and they keep to them selves very well.  They have learned tactics well enough to play in teams out side of out trio, so I think they are doing OK.

The good thing about CoH and the "bad" pre-teens is that you don't have to worry to much about greifing or them KSing everything you fight.  There are several things you can do to avoid all of this.  Personaly I have yet to see any of this, although I'm sure in time things will change a little.

I'm in the unofficial RP server (Virtue) as well as my wife.

We haven't come across any pre-teen yet and Ive seen about 4 immature teenagers (out of over 1000 different people so far)
